Description Anyone knows why? These are the reasons i found on the net...

1) to digest their food.
2) to regulate temperature
3) to exude a liquid that makes them distasteful to prey

I think many bugs secrete gastric juices to help digest their food. This also helps in predator defense. This doesn't look gastric like what grasshoppers secrete, but that may be dependent on diet.
