did you have any special scene in mind when making this? is he actually lying on the ground wounded? or just closing his eyes for a brief moment of calm after he felled his last enemy in a fight?

I'm sure you know the story of Frost-Giant's Daughter. After the battle against Vanaheimians he faints and this is the scene just before Conan met with the girl.. and he would probably face something like this when he open his eyes [link]
