Description
So, Ariel gets a live action remake. At first I didn't really care but the casting choice for Ariel has me really interested. And then after the (sadly) expected backlash I decided to draw the whole squad of her sisters to give these people a hopefully fatal heartattack. Colourwise I chose to keep those of the animation movie and also tried to adapt their original hair styles and headdresses but also add some small things.Attina is the eldest of Ariel's sisters and heir to their father so I thought the trident a fitting accessoire.

She is not the eldest but the middle sister, Aquata is the eldest. The 3rd movie got their ages wrong.

Well, now she is the first daughter. I think her being the oldest actually makes sense design-wise.
But if Disney can't keep their ages straight, I am feeling free to pick an chose

Well, design-wise, Aquata is not that bad of a choice either, after all she does share her color pallet with King Triton.
I just wish Disney could keep their facts straight instead of confusing people 😔

Disney should absolutely have a grip of such information for sure.
What made sense to me about Attina's design was that she has a similar headpiece as Triton
(Alana's in comparison is much more dainty and looks more like an accessory than an actual crown like her dad's)
and the typical "grown up"-looking hair up-do, all prim and proper that just screams "older sister" to me
Aquata's design and colour pallet are lovely and she definately shares the tail colour with her father, but it never struck me
as grown-up/oldest sister so I gladly went with Attina as the oldest for the series.
But yeah, the fault is definately with Disney for the age-confusion.

Yes, they should keep their facts straight and not be so careless with their canon.
I'm gonna go with the original line-up. Because the order in which they sung in the original movie seems waaaaaay too specific to be just a random one.
I mean, they are introducing the characters to us, the audience, for the first time, so if they are showing the daughters of King Triton, wouldn't it be natural to introduce them in the order in which they were born? Especially since they were going to have the youngest go up last, giving even more the impression that the order in which they sung was by age?
(Not only the tail, but the eye and hair color as well)
Funny enough, there was a two-part Disney comic explaining how Ursula got her lair, and in it, Aquata is said to be the oldest.
Disney REALLY didn't to their homework lol.
