Well I am gona do a thing here. Have in mind that i am BY FAR A less talented artist then the creator of this masterpiece so don't rely on real good observation from me.
I am a big fan of this artist and I always liked his creations, but it seems here he tried to play the lights and shadows in the forest, which by all means is hard as bricks.
So lets start with the colors...They clash so much which by far the point, but think if she had added a bit more brown to the tree's and ground the character would be more in the background then what he looks like out of it. Another way to by pass this clash of colors is to add green glint on the armor edge's at one side, or if he is making the character sitting in the shadows present us with more bright patches of sunlight around him passing through the leafs to integrate the character towards the background.
I know I might be wrong, but even a evil character who wears dark colors must be affected by the light,the play of shadows and of course glow of the area like in the background. To me it seems that the far background does not coexist with front one. That coming a guy that can't do backgrounds is much or less is bullshit, so you may ignore this part of the critique.
The colors in background are staggering. They are embrace the scene.
The character's style is very well done. He is perfectly done by my standards, but still he clashes with the style of the background. Mostly well seen is with that tree which stands in front him. While he has good detail and shadow play, that tree lacks it and make the character seems out of place in this picture. If it had more darker tones and more details since is more closer then the character it would have been a more greater and realistic in visual point of view.

The details on the Character are great. The character is appealing thing in this pic, at least for me. Giving us such a evil looking character , relaxing which most think is going around rampaging. But then again not all is what it seems to be.
So this is my first critique....IT's TERRIBLE . Toss rocks and shit me! Or better yet...KILL ME WITH FIRE

Ok, I am really bad at deviantart... Not having commented on this yet is a crime D: I mean woah, Kurkach with that evil armor and those butterflies. It means he is a saint at heart. It must be that. I know butterflies sit on everything but don't tell me he's looking at that butterfly and thinking of what manner of destruction to choose (= if he is, just refrain from telling me that so I can live in my perfect little world 8P)
Anyway, this picture gives me many feels, and looking at it is sheer pleasure and aww <3

I don't think butterflies are among his top priority destructables. There are so many people out there. People that he doesn't like much. While butterflies- butterflies just go about their fluttery business and have interesting patterns. He likes looking at interesting things.
P.S. Also he's friends with an elficidal elf druid with a deep fascination with the wonders of nature and deep disregard of humanoids-he-doesn't-like's lives. The druid also very much approves of concepts like "killing/defeating men and stealing their women" because that's kind of like what many group mammals do, so it must be a good thing and strengthens the gene pool.

I finally get my butt around to commenting on this picture lol. now if I saw a scary looking dude admiring the pretty butterflies I think I would be instantly at ease. or maybe not lol. but it is comforting to know that this hard looking fellow can enjoy his surroundings like this every now and again. and who could blame him. the surroundings are sooo pretty. Nice work on the armor too buddy. He almost looks like he is smiling through his armor lol

Awww, this seems so sweet. *^_^* Maybe he's not as scary as he looks. (Or maybe he's going to decapitate someone when they show up; what do I know?) But I think the terrifying black armor motif makes a really neat juxtaposition with the summery-woodland-glade background. Well done. ^_^

Wonderful! You did such a brilliant job with the foliage and the light shining through the distant trees, I love that contrast between the light colours and the dark of the "Overlord" and that butterfly on his helmet is adorable.
Your work with detail truly is amazing, especially the harshness of his armour and all the little accessories

As always, gorgeous armor. I like the lack of focus in the greenery. It's very professional (I watched tutorials on the topic *like a boss*).
