Wish-granting entities tend to twist wishes through how they're worded or otherwise grant the wish that's technically following the wish but not in the way the wisher wanted but I've never seen it outright go against parts of the wish so it probably is just for a day in one way or another. Then again, the wish didn't even let him finish his wish before granting it so maybe this wish works by different rules?
Actually, what's the point of "be careful with what you wish for" stories anyways? That if we fulfil our wishes and dreams things will go bad for us? That asking or hoping for something may have terrible consequences we never considered? That we shouldn't trust supernatural entities? It's an odd story concept I feel. Or perhaps I'm just missing the point of them.

This is meant to be pretty wholesome, just a fun "wish granted" feel-good pic. The line about it being 'one day' was sort of meant to be a minimum, so you can interpret that as lasting a bit longer than a day :3
