Description Snow leopard, picture taken in Parco Natura Viva in north Italy, 2012

Taken through glass

Slightly edited, but not much. Constructive critique and tips (also good editing tutorials, videos, etc) is very much appreciated
I wish I had focused better on the eyes.

This is a great pic!! My only critique is the softness, did you use any sharpening tools? You could make this really pop out. (Plus if you're shooting in raw, pics always come out softer. Do you do both high quality jpeg and RAW?)

Thank you C:
I made it a little sharper. I felt like I added noise when I did it too much, so I was very careful with it. Taking sharper and more detailed photographs is one of the things I want to work more on and improve.
I shoot in RAW + high quality jpeg most of the time. Raw because I like to edit it in RAW, and jpeg because it's easier for me to look at them on my laptop (I edit on a desktop) when I'm not at home (If I'm on holiday etc).

I haven't really noticed that they get softer when I shoot in RAW, but that might explain why I have had some trouble getting sharp pictures after I started shooting in RAW

To be honest with you, I don't use RAW. I use highest quality jpeg and do minor editing from there (if it's a good shot). There is so much variety of techniques with photography that it's hard to say one thing does better than the other, but with my experience, jpegs are always sharper and it also depends on how you have your camera settings. If you want some more in-depth advice, let me know, and I'll tell you what my camera's settings are, since you use the same one as me I hope I can help!

But anyway keep up the great photos

I would really like to know your camera settings. I'm still trying to get to know my own. I have had it for almost a year, but I haven't used it as much as I should It's very recently that I decided to really improve my photography and get better at it.

Thank you
