Sunderlands unlike PBY Catalina's were meant purely for landing on the water. They're also a good deal bigger as you can see. They performed vital maritime patrols and search and rescue missions. This is a true flying boat as it's basically a hull with propellers, this is a design much like the PanAm clippers (That Indiana Jones flies on) and the famed Spruce Goose.

The TigerMoth was the plane RAF pilots trained in to learn the basics of flight, much like America used Stearman biplanes.
