Oh gosh, this is super sweet. And, I love the symbolism (and I'm glad other people figured it out cause I never would have, nope nope v_v ).

With subconciousness no one can say for sure, but I find that the sleepier I get (the closer to a dream like state) the more symbolic (often artistically better) do my art ideas become. I mean to generate art ideas when on the border of wakefulness to sleep. I suspect this improved ability for symbolism/art comes from the way memory and association works in dreams. without the concious effort of putting ideas down (because you are sleepy) With no "that idea is stupid/not valid" thing present, the imagination can flow freely and think "outside the box" unrestricted, and such good, if unlikely ideas you do not think of in an alert state, gets to blossom and be noticed. Think about how odd dream symbolism can be, I had one where "soda bottle" equated to "addiction" and it immidetadly made sense to me personally, because of recent events, but if I were to include that in an art idea, my conciousness would say "no one would get it" and thus not develop that idea further.

usually my sleepy-dream ideas seem like they make perfect sense to me at the time, then I wake up and I just go ?????????????????????wat

Yes, that is what I mean. "Dream logic" has it's own set of rules.

hahah that seems a bit optimistic. don't expect doberman to like anyone, ever.

Aw. Sad title.
Hey, at least Doberman can't fly! She can't le-
"going into orbit. peace out"
never mind
Oh, symbolism? I'm good at that. Let me see...
The symbols themselves have got to be the drawings, the cliff, or possibly both.
Sir's expression is also important. He's smiling but the curve of his eyebrows is kinda sad. And he's looking at Pijums.
Most likely, he's using Pijums' company to distract himself from losing Doberman. But that's not much symbolism on its own. Let's look closer.
The loose pages are all of angry Doberman, but the one Sir is holding is of happy Doberman (and himself).
Pages are sometimes analogous to memories. Maybe he's letting go of the bad memories of Doberman and holding onto the good one(s) as a result of her being lost. A "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone" sort of thing. That's probably the case either way, but is that what this picture is meant to convey?Β
MAYBE.
I haven't touched upon the cliff or the title.
Cliff often symbolizes isolation. Pijums is there too, but he can fly and thus leave whenever while Sir cannot (because Pijums does not seem to be bothered by anything?).
The pages are "flying" too. Everyone somehow flies away from Sir, leaving him alone. And he probably thinks Pijums will, too. Like, because of the cliff thing I said before.
Don't jump, Sir! You have so much left to live for! I guess!
Yup, that's how bored I am right now.
But don't bother sketching me anything if I somehow got it right, I'm content with knowing that im da bes

diggity dang, 2 ppl figured it out! the whole pages-flying-away thing was what I was thinking, and Sir looking at his new friend Pijums while thinking about his old friend Doberman. I'm impressed you noticed all that!
plus I like your thought about the cliff, that's really interesting @u@
but... but can I sketch you something anyways... 'cause you put some good thoughts in here and I appreciate that
and it's not like I have any other art I need to be doin!

goodness gracious all this new app art is absolutely gorgeous. I love the style of this, especially the shading and the way you've done the color blocking. It's really quite beautiful and flows so nicelyΒ
The whole concept of this piece is amazingly well excecuted
I love how the one sketch he's holding, what seems to be the one he's keeping, is the one of the two of them together, with Doberman looking happy. While the ones that he's 'let go' and are 'flying away' are all of the ones where Doberman is angry looking etc, the brash and irritable Doberman, while the sketch he has is kind of the inner secret side of her, how she cares and all that. How Sir there truly views her close to his heart, while all the others, the outside personality, are things he can look past.
This picture is just. Really pretty and I can just. See so much going on in the emotions and expressions and just askdjdjsjj

I didn't think it was too obscure, it required a bit of thought and looking into the details but hey, it's art, that's what art is supposed to make you do. Observe, notice, and think about what it could all mean. And I think you pulled it off amazingly in this.

well I am reminded that no interpretation of art in general is invalid. just cause it's not what I was thinking doesn't mean it's wrong, yeah? it's interesting considering the variety of ideas ppl have been presenting!
