Description
The "Rigoletto" Anubis I designed for the Metropolitan Opera. I made about sixty of these masks...sixty! All leather, all by hand, all made to match each other as closely as possible. It was an exciting, intimidating process. But it was pretty cool to see an entire chorus of singers wearing them on stage.The DVD of the opera is available here: [link]

Soooooooo epic! When you get back from vacation I'll have to get an Anubis and ask you for a custom design that I want done. Inspired by the movie "immortals" . Greek god masks ? Watch out!!!!!!!

I watched this production in a Live From The Met screening, actually. I so excited when I saw your masks show up, especially since they appeared during some of the most dramatic and exciting moments. They lent an air of unease that really made the scene special. Good work!

I agree! I had no idea how Anubis would fit into a modern interpretation of Vegas-style Rigoletto but actually, the Duke's entourage was "a pack of jackals" and the idea of the god of death being there as a harbinger of doom was also pretty significant. So they really worked well.
