London Homeless, Central London, UKPhotograph of a homeless young man in central London. He reads an article in the paper, entitled “Call for jihad”. Next to him, there is a poster, commercial for a holiday which costs thousands of pounds. The photograph captures contrast in today’s life. It is a political statement, highlighting inequality in the society. The photograph claims that it is unclear whether the ‘Call for jihad’ is against social inequality or whether it is a call by radical religious groups.

What an amazing shot! I wish I knew more about photography, though, because I'm amazed out how the colors make this almost look like a painting! Is it the saturation that's been played with? That or my eyes need to be checked, haha.

I love the color saturation in this piece. It gives it a surreal feeling and it almost makes it look like an oil painting instead of a photograph. The colors really stand out too, and the lighting is excellent. Great work and congrats on the DD!

It's a nice shot, I just wish it wasn't so over-HDR-processed, it's really quite overdone, removing all shadows and mood from the scene. Almost like the energy has been boiled and sterilized.

I have to personally disagree with you for a number of reason. He clearly did not remove all shadows as you broadly claim. Yes, it's HDRz! Yes, there is digital darkroom work but there are shadows. It's very well done. It does look like a wonderful painting more than a photograph but photography is an art form and this is wonderful artwork!

I seriously thought this was a painting when I first ran across it, the way you brought out the textures and colors of the whole piece is amazing. I also find it interesting, and possibly a little ironic, how huge the contrast is between the poster and the man's situation, and I can't help but wonder what he's thinking as he's reading the news paper as well. Over all a brilliant photo
