Long too long late comment of things- BUT took it out to my local con (Sac Anime 2013)- and it was well received to say the very least!
First off- it fits GREAT, the hood is the right size, and it's a lot warmer than it looks! (Which was great because those days were kinda cold lol.) The side fins are propped up by one's head without the need for wires or anything which is really nice and it's like wearing a regular hoodie. (Without all the sea monster things.)
The applique is BEAUTIFUL. It is SO clean I cannot believe. This is the cleanest I've ever seen applique done.
At first I was skeptical about the tail, but those stitches there are serious business. Those seams are never coming apart, ever.
Trouble sitting down? Nope. Everything's well in place that you have yourself a nice pillow~ (Though I still try to be careful anyway to help its longevity.)

I'm glade I thought to search for Gyarados cosplays, since I just uploaded a picture I took of BlazeTBW in this wonderful hoodie. Mostly, I want to apologies, as my crappy camera screwed up the shot and didn't do this wonderful creation justice.
