Description
A random dino girl (yes, it's a girl). Meant to be a specific character, but the eccentric, warrior/tribal outfit design didn't fit the image I had of her in my head, so this dino girl is competely random. I put a base layer of black, as if I were doing a black-and-white photograph, which helped get such vibrant colors. Unfortunately, I got carried away with the black in areas so the character is a bit dark. Eh, oh well, I like it.

The character I wanted to draw is named Squirt. She's a dilophosaurus, a member of the Swift Claw clan. Like the majority of her species, they are in servitude to the more powerful Great Claw clan (raptors). Generally the servant-master relationship works well for the Swift Claws, because they live comfortable lives with plenty of food, unlike their wild cousins who have to fight against many larger predatory dinosaurs to survive. The Great Claws even hunt wild Swift Claws down because it cuts down on food competition.

Squirt has no problems living as a servant. Her master, a flamboyant raptor, treats her more like a sister than a slave. However, Squirt's peace and quiet is ruined when a band of rogue Swift Claws invades her village and tries to "free" her (ultimately kidnapping her and her master). By the time they escape, the little uprising has attracted some unwanted attention from the nearby tyranosaurus-rexes... and their dragon overlords.

Random story concept I've been bumping around in my head. May eventually connect it to a trilogy concept of mine involving animal-humans... dunno yet.
