Long overdue contest prize forThis is a lineart piece with an experiment in "texture scaling" on the dragon. Spyree requested their dragon character for this, and I saw the technique used on FA, so I decided to run with it. :3 The background is done with watercolor tools.

I usually do each scale by hand on my dragons, but this piece was done with more loose color. I still think individual scaling looks better, but I've only tried this loose technique once so I still need to practice on it. I just can't bring myself to do a smoother shading texture thing... XD

This looks amazing, you really got his personality and design spot-on. I just LOVE the expressions on them both, he looks so content with just lying in the sun and the cat is just as smug and unimpressed by everything around her as a cat sitting on a dragon who will fry anyone trying to hurt her can be. XD The scales and every detail looks wonderful, and you really got the depth in the image&pose work, it does look almost 3D. And I just canΒ΄t get over how cute they look... I love this, thank you so much!! This piece is one of the best arts of them that I have ever got. <3 <3
