Description i was inspired by a picture in national geographic, which i often am, and made this linoleum cut based upon it. the lino print was placed on paper that i silk screened for the subtle color look.

I pay for my first few years of collage by running a silk screen company out of my parent’s garage. Everything I did was hand cut lacquer film. I had some 20 color shirts.

I really like this! I know it's a lizard, but I put it into my 'fish' collection, because it looks like an eel peeking out from behind seaweed

thanks! i blended the color (partially) on the screen for the background paper and just dragged it across getting the varied color result. mixing paint on the piece is something i do a lot. i put lots of paint on the canvas (i work mostly in oils, when panting)and mix it with my brushed, i don't make solid colors all that often. i like subtle gradations. i love that lizard!

I usually don't mix paint on canvas but it sounds like fun. You did a great job .

right on! feel free to download it! it's a bummer i don't have a proper picture of the whole thing. there were two panels, almost identical but with the screen printed colors on the paper. i cut a mat (that's hard!) which was a sunny yellow and framed them together. enjoy!
