this painting expresses what i feel when i listen to this song.
don't be mistaken by the dark colors. the velvet underground were very dark, both in the rebellious clothes they work and the themes they explored in their music.
this song seems like it is yearning for something bittersweet. it sounds like it's a poem. i love the way lou reed sculpts his words to fit with the music.

thanks so very much jorn! are you familiar with the song? i'm having a lot of fun with this series. when i sit down to paint one of these it takes me so long to decide upon a song! there are so many that mean so much to me! i guess that's better than not having enough ideas! this piece has gone over so well! i was surprised, it's tiny, but i spent a long time on it.
