A little while ago I was kicking around an idea for a comic/manga series, where all the characters were stereotypical personifications of different genres. In the picture, we have Sci-fi and Fantasy.I have a few ideas for other characters, (Film Noir, Western, Historical Drama...) but I'm having trouble coming up with a world where such different characters could skip about. The movie The Pagemaster pulled it off, but I'm not sure if I'd like to go to that direction.
Ah, well, another idea to bury into the subconscious.
Fantasy: Wha? Noooo! You can't do that! You haven't even given us names yet! *teary eyes*
Sci-fi: That's the point, dummy. If we had names, we'd be actual characters instead of just some vague concept. And then she'd have to draw us more.
Merry: See, elf-boy? He knows how it goes.
Fantasy: *flailing melodramatically* But... but... What about all those ideas about Miss Drama serving tea in a 19th century maid costume? And the big romance between Sci-fi and the gun-toting Western girl?
Sci-fi: Hey... what?!
Merry: Shut up! The watchers are gonna start asking questions soon, and then the muse gets going again and I'll have to draw all that!
Fantasy: *sly grin*
Merry: ... Wait a minute...
Sci-fi: *pulls out a gun* Now, about this mushy love-love stuff that somehow has something to do with me...
