I actually listened to the song while I read through this comic, and I have to say, it fits it like a glove. It matches the emotion of the song so well. Wonderful job you've done here. They really are an amazing couple.

Honestly, in my headcanon, she hardly noticed. She doesn't really have a vested interest in any one of her changelings in particular, as long as her kingdom runs smoothly.

She wouldn't wonder, because she doesn't even realize he's gone. There's must've been hundreds of changelings taking part in the invasion on Canterlot, so even under normal circumstance she probably doesn't see each and every one of them regularly. Plus, the way I see Chrysalis, all her minions would be more or less interchangeable for her. When Greg earned his promotion, he didn't really make himself known so much as move from the general category of 'grunts' to 'officers', and as soon as that was done, Chrysalis just put him out of her mind, expecting him to just carry out his duties like all the other members of the hive.

He didn't need to, she already knew exactly what he was and was willing to help regardless. Of course he would have changed when there were other ponies around, but those parts weren't shown, because this comic was entirely focused on him and Cotton.
