Description Not as bright as the previous render, nor as much contrast, but a bit of tweaking will fix that. I won't render it in this huge size (2560x1440) again though, took 2 hours to render out

Anyway, the difference between the two is the Reflection plane's image texture - I previously had it as an Artwork image from Ocarina of Time, but I decided to go with one of my own pictures instead (copyrights and such). It's a picture of some ferns, so it's really green. I think I'll tweak the image in GIMP and add in some white The artwork had young Link and Zelda sitting on a hill, so there was a lot of white, green and pink/purple.

I actually have that game, the gold plastic has a bumpy texture, try putting a cloud bump map over the plastic but not the area where the grooves are cut in. That will really give it a realistic look.

Lucky you! I haven't found it yet...(though TBH I haven't looked much, always busy )

I was thinking of re-rendering this sometime with the Cycles engine, so I'll try to increase the bump-mapping and compare the results
Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Actually I bought it when it first came out. Wasn't so hard to find back then.

2h sounds way too long for a render like this. I guess, some kinds of slight quality tweaking would result in nearly similar results with quite lower rendertimes...

well, I think it only took 2h because the image's area was 4 times as big, the original 1280x720 render took 30 minutes...though you're very probably right, there must be something I can change to bring down that render time...or maybe it's the Raytraced Reflections that are eating up minutes, wouldn't surprise me

yeah, rayreflections are performance hogs... however, you don't need a lot of them.
make sure that your reflection depth isn't above 2... - Maybe you can even get away with 1
It's not like a super complex reflection, going on there

Also check the samples of your area lamps which, I think, you said, you used there...

hmm, I'll definitely check those turning up the depth on Ray-stuff has become a bit of a habit...hahaha

I don't know if I changed the samples on the Area Lamps though. Seems to me the only one I changed was the Shadow-Only lamp...

The shadow lamps are the important ones, sampling-wise
