jfc you have no idea how long this freaking took me oh my god.

So in here we’ve got Brid and Cormac, my two OC’s who were originally inspired by the book The Scorpio Races.
In the book there’s a yearly race run by horses taken from the sea who eat meat and are vicious and wild and yadda yadda that’s where the basic Idea for Brid comes from
Cormac was an irish fisherman (let’s pretend they had big fishing boats then kk?)
who was murdered along with his best friend Silas after Vikings captured their ship, tossing his and Silas’s bodies overboard although Cormac was still bleeding out at the time
He’d always loved the sea and as he floated there dying merpeople came along and rescued him, making him one of their own
Basically he was re-born as a merman/storm spirit kinda thing
All merpeople are paired with a Kelpie (a water horse that lures children into ponds and then devours them) and so Cormac was paired with Brid
they don’t get along at first and Brid continually tries to kill him etc. but eventually they become close and are best friends and so on.
Cormac and Brid are in their mortal forms in the picture.
While in their true forms Brid’s hide becomes just like a seals with the same markings and her back legs turn into a big fin (kinda like hippocampi/seahorses)
Cormacs eyes go all black with no whites, he gets sharp teeth and webbed and clawed hands.
I’m going to go and make the drawing video of it now asdfghjkl
