I've been a fan/supporter of that theory from very early on and love the art people are making of it so it was about time I drew some corrupted Steven myself
I know some people have drawn his gem getting spots of corruption as well, but honestly, I don't think that's even a thing, all the gems we've seen that have spots have them naturally (Ocean Jasper, Cherry Quartz, etc) and not due to corruption and those that don't have natural spots don't seem to gain any while corrupting (Jasper) so Steven's gem doesn't gain any spots either
Also while I know the fandom calls his corruption wormy boi, I personally prefer to call him Stevenzilla (or if by some miracle it turns out to not be Steven after all, even though let's be honest, those odds are reallyΒ slim by now, Gemzilla)

I have this theory that this will happen with Steven's powers crossed with puberty/teen angst and if he doesn't find a way to vent out his emotions it'll just get worse and worse.

oh yeah, it's definitely a mix of all of the above
powers + teen angst/puberty + past & present trauma + bottling everything up because he insists on keeping all of his baggage to himself, some people theorize that he'll fuse with an uncorrupted gem (Jasper, probably) and I guess that could be a final catalyst, but I think all of those issues mentioned are already enough to spiral himself into self-corruption

hopefully he has some who can help him thru.
I actually thought of a scene where he meets up with Andy, as he has some inner turmoil from things constantly changing and not staying the same, so he can sympathise with Steven and let his 'nephew' vent.
