- After losing Sans on the surface Papyrus had to take on the responsibility of paying the rent and bills of the skelebro's house; to do so he took over Sans' hot dog stand and tried to sell spaghetti to monsters, though hardly anyone bought them so he was forced to take on any other mini-jobs he could find

- Due to the extra jobs and Papyrus willingly taking over his brothers sentry post together with his own Papyrus is constantly exhausted and has even taken to falling asleep at his posts accidentally

- When Undyne saw the condition Papyrus puts himself under in order to be able to pay his rent and bills, she decided to take him in and let him live with her in Waterfall

- Ever since Undyne took him in Papyrus' condition has improved though he's still far from being as energetic as he used to be

- Papyrus has grown accustomed to leaving some of Sans' socks lying around Undyne's living room to create the illusion of his brother still being around, sometimes he even puts notes to the socks telling Sans to pick them up, in those cases Undyne will usually add an answer in Sans' name to make Papyrus happy

- Undyne's focus since she took Papyrus in is equally split between Papyrus and the Royal Guard, leaving little to no time for her girlfriend, Alphys, which causes the Royal Scientist to be super jealous of Papyrus, despite also feeling concern for him

- Papyrus is the only monster that hasn't even considered Sans being dead, while everyone else has accepted the probability that everyone who had been captured by the humans was killed, Papyrus hasn't given up hope that his brother will return; if asked why he thinks Sans hasn't come home yet he answers that he's 'probably napping too much on the way, the lazybones'
