Description No offense intended to the whole Superman/Batman team-up
but, after awhile even THAT can get old, and we fans need something "New and Fresh"

Well, how often do you see a legitimate superhero team-up like THIS!?
Batman..and, SPIDER-MAN!
(Marvel and DC really SHOULD learn to get along more often.)

To clarify, this these comic books ARE NOT part of the 'Marvel vs. DC' crossover title
(in which the two worlds literally collided, and pitted the respected heroes and villains against one another)
no, these books are something else.
taking place in an alternate universe where the Marvel and DC characters naturally co-exist.
the two storylines are treated like a typical team-up story.

the first title (published by Marvel) "Disordered Minds"
had Spider-Man venturing to Gotham City after having reservations
on a radical psychotherapy technique that supposively cured Kletus Cassady/Carnage of his sadism.
the end result is Carnage teaming up with the Joker,
and, Spider-Man convincing the "lone wolf" hero Batman to accept his help in handling the two maniacs.

the second title (published by DC Comics this time) "New Age Dawning"
is a sequel to the previous one, where Spider-Man AGAIN decides to aid Batman when he visits New York.
this time, the situation involves Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin apparently working with Ra's al Ghul.

As far as I am concerned, these were good short stories.
for one, a Marvel/DC title didn't have my favorite heroes fighting each other.
and, the books did well in pointing out the parallels between the featured heroes.
implying that similar tragedies created them (both heroes lost beloved
family members to "a punk with a gun.")
and, really..Spiders and Bats ARE dark creatures that scare people.
(plus, Stan Lee and Bob Kane were best friends in real life.)

These were good team-up stories. a shame they only got TWO books.

I am pretty sure Spider-Man is a young adult in these stories, making him more comparable to Nightwing.

I agree, they should more Marvel/DC crossovers. I like to see the Avengers and the Justice Ledge team up, or Tony Stark meeting Bruce Wayne.

Not unless he's wearing the black suit (which he of course isn't.)
No, even when Spider-Man HAD his uncle's murderer in his grasp, he didn't kill him.

Now, had VENOM had Joker in his grasp..It'd been a different story.
an anti-hero like Venom wouldn't have just KILLED Joker, he would have eaten his brain.

I was thinking more along the lines of gutting him like a fish, is there a difference between that and evisceration?

MetroXLR In reply to AlexCDavi1 [2015-12-07 08:15:54 +0000 UTC]

It's more of a "Need", than any sort of "Want" with symbiotes like Venom.

apparently Symbiotes need a certain chemical (assumed to be "Phenethylamine") to "stay sane and healthy"
which are found in TWO sources: Chocolate, and Human Brain Tissue.

meaning Venom either has to raid candy stores and gorge on chocolate bars.
OR, he hunts down criminals and leaves them with bit open skulls emptied of their brains.

Again, it's a matter of what Venom NEEDS, not so much what he wants.
