In this old story, I adapted the backstory from Snafu-Comics PPGD webcomic
where Dee Dee was killed during Dexter and Mandark's last known battles,
which changed Dexter's outlook on life as a result.
The idea here is that "Didi" was named after Dee Dee in her honor.

I bet Dexter misses her even though she was super annoying to him. How was she killed? Was she in war or was it an accident?

In PPGD, Dee Dee was killed when he saw a Jackbot (Guess Mandark was buddies with Jack Spicer)
aimed at Dexter, and ran between them, taking a fatal shot.
(So, to be blunt: She took a Bullet for her brother.)
In my version something similar happened, as I felt it was in character for Dee Dee
to protect Dexter from Mandark's obsessive hatred of him.
Also, Dexter's shift in personality due to Dee Dee's absence also makes sense,
as a few episodes from the canon cartoon implied this when Dee Dee disappeared for different reasons.
I could also say that Dee Dee was the source of Dexter's success, simply for being an "Agent of Chaos."
If Dee Dee wasn't always destroying his equipment, Dexter wouldn't only be spending most of his time fixing them,
but also wouldn't upgrade his tech so they can withstand Dee Dee rough housing.
To again, to be blunt: Dee Dee inspired Dexter to be innovative with his technology.
Which ironically, made Dee Dee, Dexter's greatest collaborator and lab assistant.
She made him a better scientist..Better than Mandark ever could be on his own.

I see. She risked her life to save her brother that she dearly loved best. She would have been a good sister-in-law to Blossom and a great aunt to her niece.

much like PPGD, in this 'fanon canon', Dee Dee died saving Dexter's life.
so, when Dexter had a daughter, he named her after his sister.
I purposely spelled it "Didi" to be unique, and not confuse people when writing text literature.

Awesome! I always wanted a "female version" of my fav. cartoon character as a child. I wish your drawing existed back then. You know I always related myself to Dex and liked to pretend I was a Scientist. I know it's not related to the drawing but I am moved by it. It is technically awesome. I like her glasses, hair, boots and even her skirt. I am not sure about this but I would not give her a pink skirt though. And if you forgive me, it is unlike that Dexter would name her daughter after his sister. Remember, he dislikes her?Β

MetroXLR In reply to AmadErik [2013-12-23 00:29:12 +0000 UTC]
The Pink Skirt and Name makes more sense if one follows my PPG/DL canon more closely.
In it, Dee Dee was killed during a Dexter/Mandark confrontation that went bad,
and, bothΒ boys suffered psychological trauma from her death.
Dexter eventually got better (and, regretted all the times he was mean to his sister)
but, Mandark got worse..and, eventually disappeared for awhile.
Didi is also the daughter of the Powerpuff Girl 'Blossom' (hence the pink skirt)
so, she is actually a Girl genius with Superpowers.

I drew her in the traditional art style of the cartoons she is based upon.
IF she is so horrible looking, then you must not be a fan of Dexter's Lab, or PPG.
and, for the record: She ISN'T Ugly.
I have seen examples of ugliness, and this isn't that.
and, the fact that you can't give me a logical reason
means you aren't giving me a proper critique, and you just want to be rude.
π: 0 β©: 1
MetroXLR In reply to superchoveka [2013-10-29 20:14:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes, you were.
saying that anything is "fricking ugly" is unpolite with total disregard for anyone's feelings
(how would YOU feel if I called anything you made "ugly" or "hideous")
No, You were Rude.
you deliberately insulted my artwork,
without giving ANY logical reason why, other than you just hate it.
and, if you are so arrogant that you can't even acknowledge this fact,
or, show some integrity and apologise for your rudeness
and, admit to your mistake..then,I have nothing more to say to you.

The Microchip in the butt thing is gonna be a real pleasant conversation one day, "Father how did you know where I was?" "Now daughter don't overreact but I planted a tracking chip in your....well posterior." "You DID WHAT!?"

Will Didi REMOVE said microchip??
or, will she leave it where it is.

If so, then we both know that Dexter will find SOME OTHER WAY to monitor Didi.
He's DEXTER, Remember??
even as a child, he had the whole world monitored.
so, tracking his daughter's every move should be like grade school math for him.

Especially since i based my version of Adult Dexter
on the "Action Dexter" from the movie 'Ego Trip'
(where Dexter was muscular, and sounded like Arnold Swarzenegger.)
the only real difference in Action Dexter
and, my version of Dexter is that Dexter still has hair.
other than that: their the SAME Character.
Now, picture THAT Dexter angry at you
and, aiming his high powered weapons right where it'll hurt the most.

Or, Snafu-Comics deliberitly ruined their own fandom.
and, just had Blossom betray Dexter, and go for Him..like so many rumors have been suggesting.
That's one reason why i gave up on those rude, selfish jerks
and, dedicated myself to my OWN PPG/Dexter's Lab fiction
(and, believe me: I gotta list of reasons for my "defection")
I don't mean to boast or brag.
but, I am a much, MUCH better storyteller than they are.
