Even though I have already used this song for a completly different fanart,
I felt it also fit for this lesser known, underrated MLP Pairing that I favor.
The idea is that many years ago, Princess Luna and King Sombra WERE best friends.
as children, they did everything together, and her insepprable.
but, when Sombra went down a dark path as an adult,
Luna (along with Celestia) was forced to banish him into Shadow Form
(to which he was released centures later, only to be crystalized and destroyed)
realizing her true feelings for Sombra,
Luna begins to wonder if there was any way to change things, make things go back to the way they were..
but, she may never know if thing could have happened differently.

Also I remember you telling me you planned on pairing Applejack up with an oc pony with an Australian accent, I've been meaning to ask you what his name is and how he and Applejack meet?

"Irwin Stevens"
His name is meant to be a tribute to my favorite australian: Steve Irwin
though, his charcater will be alot like Hugh Jackman's character from the 2008 film "Australia"
(in which he is a Drover, a type of worker who moves livestock around..which I have seen Applejack do as well)
My best guess is that they met when Applejack went to visit a cousin
in a part of Equestria that is like Austrailia (maybe it's just called "Downunder", or something)
and, AJ may have met Irwin while he was working for her cousin as a Drover,
and it was those "Love at First Sight" type of things.
That's my best guess, anyways.

Very Interesting! I would go with. making Irwin a drover since that would also show Applejack that Irwin is a hard worker like her and could help her and her family at Sweet Apple Acres.

That was my intent from the start.
I look at Applejack's family being a very unified group.
each member of the family work together to get what needs done.
and, IF a member of the family marries,
then, that family will also take part in the chores and work.
I was initially inspired from other fictional portrayals of farmer families.
how as the family grows, additions are made to the house, making it bigger
(if they can build barns, they can make renovations to their house.)
and, some farmers have a "family cemetery"
in which they bury family who have died on the farm grounds.
Course, I also brought in Irwin
because I like the idea of Applejack being in love with someone
(even more so the notion of her being a "mama" someday,
which I feel she would be good at, given her character.)

Not really sure.
In the long run, I intend for Sombra to suffer the same final fate as TFP's Megatron,
and, become so traumatized by being enslaved by Tirek, that he gives up being a Tyrant..but, withdraws from the public entirely.
Simply put: He puts himself in self exile, and becomes a recluse.
so, time will tell if he ever returns, or if he and Luna will have a future.
Currently, the issue of Alex Cosmos being King Sombra's descendant raised an interesting question.
as this technically means Sombra DID sire at least one offspring before he was turned to shadow 1000 years ago.
My first initial idea was for the mother of Sombra's child be a nameless "concubine" (slave girl)
but, I think it'd might be real interesting if LUNA was the mother, and hid it from everyone (even Celestia)
she most likely gave her child to somepony else, FAR from Canterlot.
in hopes that he or she would have a better life..and, make up for her personal failure.
of course, losing both a good friend, love and her first child would be heartbreaking,
and, MAY have been a contributing factor to her Nightmare Moon transformation.
Of course, if I decide to do this.
then, that would technically mean that Alex is Princess Luna's descendant as well
(and, as such, a member of Celestia's royal family, regardless on if he were an Alicorn or not)
(This MIGHT explain who/how the Nightmare Entity chose him as a vessel as well.)
I am still debating which backstory to go with: Concubine??, or LUNA?, hmm..

I think that might be a good idea, too.
Might explain why in my fictions thus far,
I have had Luna take a "special interest" in Alex Cosmos well being for no known reason.
perhaps she took concern over him simply BECAUSE he is her Great+ Grandson.
It would also help with my planned future for Alex Jr. (in which he becomes Equestria's new ruler)
as some found it odd that he's suddenly replaced Celestia and Luna.
Perhaps if he is revealed to be related to Luna, it won't she quite as "farfetched" to some.
Luna having a child from Sombra (which she NEVER raised, or got to know)
would add more drama for the character, given I have already made Cadence and Pipsqueak her adopted children.
I feel everything she's been doing recently has always been to 'make amends' for past mistakes.
She regretted what she did to Sombra..
She regretted giving up her first and only biological child..
She regretted her Nightmare Moon transformation..
and, She regretted how Lionel turned out, and how much Alex had to suffer.
Luna is a pony full of much guilt and regret..and, only wants to make Right her Wrongs.
Sadly, she has done MANY wrongs..and, making up for all of them is harder than it seems.
One thing is clear: It ALL started with King Sombra.

I see, yeah, Luna has made alot of wrongs that weight her down. And she desperately tries to fix them.

If Luna has any personality flaw, it's that she's too hard on herself, sometimes.
Although, it is safe to say that part of Luna's mistakes have stemmed from Celestia's own mistakes.
Canonwise, it stands to reason that Luna became Nightmare Moon,
because everypony loved Celestia more, and Celestia made no effort to change this.
In my fanon, part of the reason "Luzar" became Sombra,
was that Celestia disapproved of him, and Sombra really just wanted her acceptance.
When the time came for Celestia and Luna to face King Sombra,
I imagine Luna didn't want to fight her friend..but, Celestia had no problem, and MADE Luna do so for the greater good.
So, it is no wonder that IF Luna became pregnant with Sombra's child,
she never told Celestia, and kept he truth from her for all these years.
Celestia herself most likely acknowledges her own faults,
and, has also tried to make some efforts to make amends.
Though, Luna's guilt is far greater than Celestia's.
