You ever have one of those days were you look at just ONE episode of a new show on a whim..
..and, somehow you end up liking it, and "BOOM!, BAM!, POW!"; You're a new fan.
That was what recently happened to me when out of boredom
I browsed the ON DEMAND function of my TV, and took a chance at watching 'Star Vs. The Forces of Evil.'
already being a fan of 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'
I was able to get pass the typical "Girly Stereotype" of the show, and just enjoy it for what it is.
So, now..I am a fan. I've seen..MOST of the episodes so far, and now patiently await the rest.
NOW, for the subject matter of this fanart.
due to the fact that I watched Star Vs., and Teen Titans Go in one sitting.
I was able to put the pieces together, and conclude that Star Butterfly and Starfire are similar.
In fact, they are SO SIMILAR, it's kinda scary.
To help others along, I have compiled a list of character traits so you may all see the parallel that I saw.
1. Star Butterfly is a Princess from another world..So is Starfire
(Dimensions aside, Star comes from another planet just like Starfire.)
2. Star Butterfly and Starfire are both Endlessly Optimistic, Peppy and Friendly.
3. Both Star Butterfly and Starfire fight monsters and villains on a daily basis
4. Both Star Butterfly and Starfire are "aliens"
who are ignorant of some Earth Customs/Lingo, and have "odd" personal habits
5. Both Star Butterfly and Starfire have a close bond
with a male in red who is a martial artist, and fights monsters and villains with her
(Marco Diaz knows Kung-Fu, and Robin is of course Batman's apprentice.)
6. Both Girls share the same name (Starfire is usually refered to as "Star" by her friends.)
7. Just read the song above. It applies to BOTH of them.
So, for all those reason (and, maybe some that I am forgetting, or hasn't yet surfaced)
I decided to make this crossover fanart. showcasing Starfire in the "Star Vs." art style.
Now, doesn't Starfire look like a dead ringer for Star Butterfly?!

I like this combination. I just opicture it as Starfire from the original show, not the eye-gagging, cringeworthy, suicide inducing childishly sinister piece of a show from hell, Teen Titans GO.

I just felt both characters were similar.
Particularly how in the earliest episodes, Star Butterfly completely misunderstood
what a football game really was, and thought it was a Gladiator match.
I could see Starfire making a similar mistake if not properly informed on what a GAME is.
(and, of course there is the whole "Star" nicknaming.)

They say it's the best Disney Original Series since Kim Possible.
(and, to be fair. It follows a similar formula of a female protagonist with a male sidekick.)
It ain't now "Fish Hooks", I can tell you that. It is like if Teen Titan's Starfire
was given magic powers, and starred in her own show with a Hispanic Robin who just wants things to be normal.
The status quo is "Magic Girl vs. Monsters." but, is more of an Action/Comedy.
and, sorta pokes fun at girly tropes (EX: rainbows that are literally on fire.)
Star has an ex-boyfriend who is a DEMON.
and, her "best friend" is a talking, severed unicorn head (It's more SFW than you might think.)
It's funny, but not stupid.
It can be serious, but doesn't take things too seriously.
It's on the same level as Kim Possible, and Danny Phantom in my opinion.

pretty much the show is terrible compared to others show now and then on Cartoon Network. the animation is "meh" at best, the character flip-flop between being jerkish assholes and moronic dumbasses, the jokes are unfunny and CN themselves tries to shove this down viewers throats, be it in the promos saying "YOUR favorite show" and showing it over and over again every day.
the show is just terrible every which way you look at it.

Oh, I think I see the problem. YOU think the "Starfire" that I was referring is the TTG Version.
Well, I can understand that misconception. given that I namedropped it.
HOWEVER, if you were to look at the artwork, you would notice that the chosen colors are NOT that of TTG Starfire..

Don't feel too embarrassed. It's been YEARS since the "real" Teen Titans show has been on the air.
and, today's audience has no doubt forgotten it, and doesn't realize that TTG is a spin-off show, and not the real Teen Titans.
SO, in truth. I didn't "mix a Great Show with a Terrible One" as you originally stated.
I actually mixed a Great Show with an Equally Great Show that just so happens to have a terrible spin-off variation of it.

I can fully understand your reasoning for this idea.
as Captain Marvel/Shazam is a normal kid given magical powers with but one word.
BUT, Marco's appeal to me is that his only real "power" is his martial art skills
(which contrasts Star's actual magic powers, and somehow is just as affective against monsters.)
he almost seems like a "Junior Batman" in that sense.
so, Marco just seems more interesting if he can do what he does WITHOUT any special powers.
Then again, the series is still NEW, so his overall character is still developing.
so, it's too early for any of us to decide upon his absolute character and skill set.

I have ALREADY begun writing a short story based on Star Vs.
Nothing too fancy, just a simple enough story for a newcomer to the fandom.
I can tell you this much: The title is "Star Vs. REAL Evil", and pits Star against what I consider to be "Real Evil".
Just what I mean by that, you can speculate yourself until I finish writing and posting it.
BUT, all things considered, you probably already have an idea on what "Real Evil" is yourself.

What if Marco's life was hanging by a thread,
and Star was told where to find the man who put her friend in such a state. What would Star do?
