I found some old styled cardstock in my room, and I was listening to a song from a CD called, "Where's Neil When You Need Him?" - Its a compiliation CD featuring songs from different bands about works by Neil Gaiman.
(Three are about Coraline, very creepy. One's called - "The Cold Black Key.")
The lyrics are from the song titled "We Won't Go" by Hungry Lucy.
The song is about a picture book by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by DaveMcKean, called "The Wolves in the Walls."
I was looking through the book on Amazon, *first few pages*, and its... a very interesting book, it IS a children's picture book, its short - about 54 pages or so, I only saw the first 6. - but the story.. its so dark. It has a veyr 'Coraline' feel to it - Coraline 'novel' feel to it.
And its not just because Dave McKean illustrated both the books.
But anyway - I was inspired by that song and my newfound intrest in this piece to create a picture with the cardstock and my manga inking pens - all gray and black.
I darkened this image a bit on GIMP though - but not much at all. It really looks like this almost exactly in real life - my scanner made it appear light.
Ref of the girl was form the Coraline graphic novel though - just the pose. (I gots it. heh. Its... Just.. creepy.)
