Description
This is the image that inspired this journal . It was supposed to be a 'quick doodle' as a kiriban prize... until inspiration punched me in the face. SORRY TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO GOT ACTUAL DOODLES. It's been a very long time since I've given myself permission to fully paint a real scene like this and use colors and everything. It was incredibly cathartic.The lovely wood-antlered Daim belongs to Happydaim . Do not use this picture without her permission!

Daim turns to wood at the beginning of winter and changes back in spring. I wanted to draw him transitioning out of wood, but I don't have that skill, so I settled for a root instead.

I adore the textures on everything here! The deer is wonderfully integrated with the blueish tones and the way the roots curl around it. And it's so peaceful and inviting that it makes me resent winter less (:
