Huu~! Two comics in a row!!
Well, this isn't a commemoration for any newcomer thing as of late, it's just a "what-if" or even a simple "visit-for-reunion" picture regarding the Captain N team again. As I said, despite the funky-lousy ways of the show, I still take it as a sort of sweet-nostalgia that these three take in-- even if the days were strange.
Excluding Megaman, they've all changed a lot-- physically and whatnot, but especially physically. So I thought I would make a proper reunion-comic between Pit-n-Megaman to Simon Belmont since the first two were already well-united thanks to Smash 4.
(That, and I doubt Konami would pick Simon over Snake to appear in this next game anyway.)
Also, the beginning of this comic was nothing too important. I just wanted to start the comic with something like "a usual day at the Smash Masion" or something like that, where these two young-boys are being mischievous as friends can be by playing Target Practice with Mario's head, and Megaman's Hard Knuckle.
Just some inside-joke my bro-n-I came up with~
The main scenario of this comic was more to casual, simple, and a little whimsy with the stranger-danger sort of feel when Megaman-n-Pit came across the "real" Simon Belmont. Because if you've seen that old cartoon, you'd know why they wouldn't have recognized him at first. ( * 3*);
At least, despite how he didn't turn out exactly like how I practice-sketched him, I'm happy that I am managing to improve on drawing Simon and muscular-older-men in general. At least, with my sort of style. ( . C.);

Well onw thing that changed with Megaman... he's blue not green.
I think if these trio was rebooted on a new show version it be as cute like how you potray it.

Ah, totally~ And thank you!
The idea was a neat one, it was just the execution of the idea that ended up making the show come out rather ridiculous.
Plus, the team wasn't entirely familiar with their source material, so that also caused a part of the poor results.
But hey, that doesn't mean we can't make cooler twists from it as fans-- that's what I've been trying to do this entire time!

I agree, I think this youtuberΒ Conner the waffle sad it the best about the trio, a cool idea sunked into the depths of ridiculous americanΒ 80s writing

Oh, for sure, America had this rather crazy style of writing stories aimed at kids during that time.
Anything we had here never failed to have it's... memorable moments?
But most folks take it as laughably memorable, so it's all good to sometimes sit back and joke at the things we like or liked.
Well, Simon is the oldest of the three, he may as well be their dad-- just a big scary-looking dad, is all he is.

True... I mean I can remember the time when I used to watch those game cartoons at a young age. They're, kinda hard to watch but I just choke up a laughter by laughing at them XD
Hehe, indeed~ To me if I had a dad like Simon I'd hold his hand or even take piggyback rides on his shoulder.

He looks so much girlier, but so did Alucard. XDΒ Still, this is my preferred look for Simon. I never really cared for the blonde ego-dufus they went for in the show. He just...never looked like he would have fit in with the Castlevania crew like that. xp

But joking aside, I feel the same way-- I think the red hair looks really nice and distinct on Simon!
D'ohh, I don't think anyone really prefers that Captain N design, I mean they purposely wrote Simon badly to make Kevin look "good".
Which in my dictionary is pretty poor writing of a character, it's almost like the writer hates him or something (though in this case, it was for bad humor).
Nevertheless, if I ever had to refer to his experiences in Captain N, I would just draw Classic Simon instead.
The outfits from the show would just be used for referential jokes or something, so don't worry about having to see me drawing that chin!

They were having fun, it's like throwing stones in the water except it is Megaman's fist to Mario's head.

It's really funny how they still remember him after rather cowardly (and quite OOC if compared to the games) depiction of Simon anyway--- he must have truly changed during all these years for them, eh?
Love the fun shenanigans in the Mansion though, poor Mario.Β

I thought it'd be an interesting try to depict a normal day at the Smash Mansion. Though I am not that fond of slice-of-life, daily-life sit-com sorta stuff, I do keep ideas of casual moments with the Smashers in my head. So, this was just one of those many things. ( ' ,');
But oh yeah, I don't know much about Simon Belmont, but it's safe to say I know that Captain N's depiction wasn't exactly the most accurate.
Even so, I took that massive-gap-change as an idea for this comic and I think I gotta thank them for doing that, it gives Simon some decent back-character and some detail for these three's friendship. ( ~' ,')~
Aw thanks~! I wanted keep him manly but still good-looking, but in a way that is slightly different than the "good-looking" the cartoon had in mind. Just to tie things in, yet also to show that despite how different Pit, Megaman, and Simon are, they're still buddies.

How funny, I'm all for doing what I can if to create a slice-of-life story stuff with my favourite characters myself- must be because I'm just curious to see how their lifes work in general when taking in their universe and physics. (And I can also blame my manga-anime-phase of Azumanga/Yotsuba/Lucky Star/K-ON/Ouran/Karin/Fruit's Basket for that too)
It's pretty cleverly done- because really, Simon looks so much better and natural with that redhead style of his. (-ovo-)
And indeed- these three have gone quite a way, gotta say.Β
