Description
This is #45- "Illusion" from my 100-Theme Challenge: [link]"The real hero... The real master of the sword.... It's me, a mere child who has vanished in time, but lingers in spirit inside a new body...."
The picture is simply a symbolism of how I imagine the Ocarina Link and the Twilight Link's relationship as ancestor and descendant respectively.
The following is obviously debatable through other random ba-jibbies due to the fact that's it's just my fan-idea and I respect others' opinions to things as long as there isn't any flaming/trolling, but I'll put up my explanation anyway.
Young Link is technically the true Hero of Time, and the adult body that slayed Ganon in the future isn't supposed to exist any longer. But then, the Master Sword housed the other body and allowed it to continue on (thus the other adult generation).
And so as the older Link is here, the previous generations continue to reside within him-- making Link the hero he is. That means that the Hero of Time (the younger Link) is kinda resembled here as the true hero within the older body.

That will easily explain the puppet strings, yeah? There's another reason for those, but it's way too much to explain and it kinda runs into my FanFic. I'll just leave it at that, so I can avoid any crazy-daisy arguments or anything like that... o-o
I colored everything with marker and stuff except for the skin and background which was done on Adobe Photoshop CS. It looked to empty without a background to give off an ominous feeling, so I let screwing-around-with-photoshop take care of that ish-yu-eh~
[EDIT]: Sorry everybody, I just wanted to fix the sizing on this; for some reason it kept bugging me out. Eheheh...

I always thought about this stuff more than other fans of the games that link had missed 7 years of his life and was a child stuck in a adults body. this pic always reminds me of that crazy thought I always have. I guess I am not only thinking about these things.

Oh no, I have seen other fans depict similar thoughts about the matter. Either way, Link really did miss seven vital years of his life when he slept in the Sacred Realm, so all that growing-up stuff kinda flew over him, and not a lot of people think about it since he "looks" like an adult.
I mean, none of us just magically turn into bold, strong folks when we hit that mark of our years, right?
That being said, it's very cool to know that you and many others can share these feelings in the game!

Hmm... How shall I say it simply. ( ` ~`);
People sometimes forget that the true Hero of Time was really a young boy in a grown-up body. And so, I had this rather abstract imagery to demonstrate how confusing-- or even deceitful-- that may appear when you think about it.
They're the same Link, but people don't seem to see that easily.

Aww, is that so? I myself love to do theories about some games- mostly it seems to be based on unexplainable cameo appearances and stuff. Maybe I'd show you one fanfic idea based on my researching and gaming via note.
I find it though very exciting and fun to see someone else who thinks quite deeply and gives out these symbolistical ideas and theories. After all (what I've seen from Nintendo), Nintendo doesn't much care about correcting stuff or revealing and tying up loose ends of many things (like is DK really DK Junior and Cranky the original DK from arcade, and are Popo and Nana really siblings or lovers)- they let us use imagination to build our fandom. Oh really? That's cool, I love to see what other people have for game-based theories and ideas also. They're quite interesting in my opinion.
Ah yes, Nintendo does seem to leave things like that on purpose, just to let everyone use their imagination. I do the same with my pictures such as this picture, to let others interpret it however they feel.
That's the beauty of imagination and fanfics.

Oh yes, and the older Link's eyes are like that for a reason. I made it so Adult Link looks soulless or empty to symbolize that he isn't really anything without his younger body (the true hero) being there with him.
So the puppet strings resemble how Young Link can control anything that the older one could do. And without the master, the puppet is merely a lifeless body.
It's a bit of a dark symbolism, eheheh... ( ._.);
