I think different colors of crab spider are different species that live on different colors of flower. I would have to actually look that up though.

The Thomisus onistus can be found in various colours; what I don't know is if any particular specimen can actually change its own colour. I have not come across any text that verifies what NGC claims on a documentary about spiders in which it was actually declared that this species of spider can change its colour to mimic the flower it prowls on.

This spider was actually quite a big specimen; it's size well matched that of the drone fly its eating. Their venom must be very effective because many times they capture prey much larger than themselves.
