True, that Grunt in the Slowpoketail store took a Dragonite's Hyper Beam to the face and just moved back a step. Or maybe Pokemon moves are actually just really weak, and the flashiness is just a cover.

That´s why the HP Bar and revival items exist, hell have you seen the Pokemon mangas?, Trainers gets attacked by pokemons moves quite often, and yest, they hurt as all hell o.o yet they survived

A level 3 Pidgey on Route 2 can survive taking a critical hit from Thunder from a level 100 Zapdos. The internal consistency is all over the place.
