Description Oil on canvas. 40x50 cm. I really like the atmosphere and cold air in the morning, especially in winter, so I tried to illustrate this atmosphere on canvas.

love the mood you captured here, keep the originals coming, I sometimes get lost in reference photos too much and forget to invent.

Thanks! Yeah, I'll try doing more motives by myself, but I wanted to improve my techniques first, which I think is the easiest to achieve by copying the old masters

I've been thinking about this painting since I first saw it in November. It's breathtakingly beautiful, but also having something so much more into it. the light and the emotion you've put into it, the lonely character in one of the windows.. I'm in awe.
Did you paint this from a photo or on the spot?

Wow, thank you, I´m very happy to see, that this painting says/means something to you. I had one photo for the sky, and one as reference for the houses, which I combined. It was quite hard to chose the colour of the snow, since the reference photo had completely different light. I also added the lights in the windows, which I find quite important for morning atmosphere and improvised some houses on the edges of the picture.

Yes, I was thinking that the lights on the windows were kind of like from a fairytale, which was the reason for my wonder.
I think this combination you did turned out to be amazing, thank you for sharing!
