Haha who doesn't zone out while reading Homestuck sometimes? I remember when I caught up (during the weeklong hiatus Hussie took last summer) I wanted to be done catching up so bad that I skimmed way more than I should have and I missed so much plot goodness xD Thank goodness for rereading.
And why would people draw them blushing pink? There's so much fun to be had with their variable blood colors (like tinting elbows and knees owo hahaha)

But I zone out most of the time with the constant logs and just the text explaining whats going on. Sometimes I just stop reading the page completely |D

Aaaand I don't blame you. When I first read HS, I found a couple of the typing quirks really hard to read at first and I ended up just scrolling through.
I recommend rereading it eventually! A lot of the stuff in the chatlogs are hilarious and/or very very plot relevent, and it's amazing how much you miss the first time around. I've read the whole thing at least three times through (mostly reading it with people I'm trying to get into the fandom)
What helps a lot is reading the chatlogs out loud, if you have a friend to do it with. Then you can do silly voices and it's super fun

One day I'll reread but nine and a half times out of ten, I read all the chat logs. If I do skip or half-read, it's only one or two lines at a time
I try to get my friends into Homestuck and I hope I can so we can read out things and reference HS where no one else would understand XD

Man, when I first read Homestuck, I was vacationing out of state and staying with a few friends that were very much into it, and they basically sat me down and made me read it.
So when I came home the first thing I did was make my little sister read it, ahaha

But I must say that the most annoying parts of Homestuck to read are the White Text Guy conversations. I do read them but I wish I didn't have to >.<
