Description Just fiddling around with some ideas. The general concept is that instead of channeling her soul into a new body, Dante instead became a homunculus. Bit of a leap, but eh. Throughout hundreds of years, she establishes a small network of fellow homunculi, and with her thirst for power she does attempt a coupe to overthrow the military. The plan is unsuccessful, and her group disbanded and abandoned. She realizes she cannot win this fight with homunculi alone in the fight against armed military and alchemists. She sets out to re-establish her band of homunculi, but soon finds out she is hunted by the military and realizes she is really pressed for time, and hurries to assemble her group, salvaging only two homunculi in the process. (Thus far?)

Dante is representing Greed, because in my mind Greed is the basic foundation of sin. Because sin is inherently greedy? *coughcough*RuleofRose*coughcough* Granted, I guess there's no reason to name them after sins anymore, but why not I suppose? I do logic very well, yes.

Although neither Lyra nor Rose's tattoos are visible here, Lyra is supposed to represent Sloth and Rose is supposed to represent Wrath.

As Dante sure wasn't above putting her subjects down to establish who the boss was (or am I remembering wrong? Not sure), Lyra became the new Sloth, after finding out Lyra was an alchemist in her former life. To prevent her from running away, Dante had her believe she was useless without alchemy, that people only liked her for her abilities to begin with, and that all she is good for now is serving her.

Rose was named Wrath, in spite of her gentle behavior and kindness, to prevent her from going back to her old life saying she was now a monster, because she was the result of a failed transmutation, which most likely resulted in death to the person trying to ressurect her, saying she is born from causing pain. Rose has a hard time dealing with this, and Dante slowly tries to meld Rose into the Wrath she needs her to be.

Noah is their new recruit, possibly connected to this idea, where Noah crosses over into Amestris and becomes an alchemist . Dante hopes to either convince her to perform human transmutation or become a footsoldier of sorts. After Dante finds out about Noah's abilities to see into people's hearts and dreams (if she still has that ability), she realizes Noah has so much more potential than that, and instead decides to make her the front and center of the group. She plays on Noah's insecurities and the injustices done to her to manipulate her into doing her bidding, attracting attention away from Dante as she becomes just "another" homunculus in the eyes of her enemies.

So yeah.... canon? Continuity? What's that? :'D Pardon the over-dramatic story attempt, sometimes it's just fun to pour out ideas. This is a mess.

Also I was really curious and kind of excited about drawing Lyra and Rose as homunculi. Not necessarily the best designs for any of the three, but it was a fun little project at least?

Also Noah is... very unfortunate in being liked by someone who revels in angst. D:

I know that homunculi tend to be lightskinned regardless of ethnicity, but knowing the trend of whitewashing it just didn't feel right to do that with Rose. D:

Pardon the run-on sentences! I realize my grammar and general comprehension is not the best, but I'm trying my darndest I swear! :'D

Definitely bad company! Great story idea! I love how you did Lyra and Rose as homunculi under Dantes boot and poor Noa can't get a break, can she? This kind of makes me think of my own head canon where Dante crosses over to our world and creates Despair from Alfons Heiderich.

Oh, I completely forgot to talk about Noah!
Noah looks awesome. Distressed, but awesome. Great work.

This idea is amazing and I so hope you continue with it. I am so extremely intrigued by it. Seeing as how you mentioned you can't write (I read your conversation with ArrogantVengeance) do you think maybe you could make a comic? That would be super cool.
And as for the sins, I agree that Greed would work quite well for Dante. I like the way you made her look. Is that an original design or is there something I missed from the series where we actually got to see her?
Once again, I must say I love the way you draw girls. I saw the belly pudge on Lyra and thought 'damn this woman is good'. I also love (again) how you make the breasts a realistic size, whereas a lot of artists would have gone for a lot bigger.
I love the design you gave Lyra and Rose.
I agree that Lyra could probably be Sloth, but I don't really see Rose being Wrath. I feel like she's a really difficult character to give a specific sin to, and had Dante not already completely dominated it I would have said Greed, but, I guess the closest sin to Greed is either Envy, Lust or Gluttony, and Gluttony doesn't really work for Rose, so maybe Envy or Lust? But then again, doesn't it depend on the person who Transmuted the homunculus in the first place, if we're going off 03 rules here.
Trisha Elric became Sloth because of Ed and Al's desire to have their mother to look after them, Lust became Lust because of Scar's brother's desire to have his girlfriend back, and Envy became Envy because of Hohenheim being jealous (in a way) of all the parents who still had children while his had died (at least, this is the conclusion that I've drawn). So if we're using the baseline the series has set us, the sin depends on the desires of the alchemist. The question then becomes, I suppose, who Transmuted Dante, Rose and Lyra. I'm going to assume that Dante died at some point and it was Hohenheim that tried to bring her back out of greed for wanting her back, and because Homunculi can't use alchemy she probably would have forced some other alchemist to make the other two after she killed Rose and Lyra.
Oh my God, I just realised how long my rant was, I'm sorry.
Anyway, to the point, PLEASE MAKE THIS A COMIC!!!

Oh gosh, thank you! :'D
I could definitely try that! 8D I've always wanted to draw comics but I haven't had a clue where to start, so thank you very much for the tip! :'D ( also gosh you are way too kind! )

It's based on her short appearances in flashbacks in the later episodes, though her eyes are obscured and her color palette is monochrome. The eye shape is obviously inspired by Lyra though, because Dante was at her most vile and memorable in Lyra's body. :'D I guess Lyra had an appearance that just fit Dante's personality?? That doesn't sound entirely right. XD;;;;

Thank you so much! :'D I realize I've drawn their breasts a lot smaller than they are in the series, but I don't think the net damage on the fandom is that much! XD Happy to hear you like their designs also!

Yeah, Rose as Wrath didn't work out as I hoped it would, and she sure is hard to pin down as a sin. I guess I could always make her Sloth instead of Lyra, because of her humble existence as a religious servant, and make Lyra either Envy or Wrath? I'm not even sure if the sin names are at all necessary, so I'll have to see if I ditch them entirely, as much as I love to call them by sins and all. :'D Either way I plan to have Rose's fiancee, who originally died in the series, attempt to ressurect her with alchemy. So there are obviously going to be a lot of changes. :'D I want to avoid making Rose Lust in spite of that, it just didn't sit well with me for some reason.

It's true though that the intentions behind the transmutations matter! :'D Scar's brother also gave his genitalia to revive her, which is how Lust got her name I think? And Sloth could turn herself into water (or erhm, water-like I suppose), which "just" lies about and goes where the situation takes it, for lack of a better example. XD;; And your conclusion of Envy sounds spot on!
I could definitely see Hoenheim trying to ressurect Dante for that reason, maybe their original plan relied on them both to obtain positions of power and wealth, and he just couldn't do it on his own? So he was motivated by greed at the time?

Nonono no need to apologize! I always enjoy reading your comments! :'D Thank you so much for your kind words and all your insight! I appreciate it! >w

You're very welcome. :3
You so should, I think you'd be great at it. A good way to start is always either a prologue or a preface, short and sweet, to get the reader interested. It's also just a fun way to start. I don't really draw comics that much (though I have tried a few times) but I do a lot of writing for the FMA fandom, and I like to think I'm reasonably successful, so I figure it'd be pretty similar.

I think I remember that now actually. Yeah, I think you've got her pretty spot on, and like the inspiration you drew for her eyes, nice touch.

I actually think that's brilliant. Sloth works a lot better for Rose than for Lyra. Though, as a Catholic, I did squint my eyes a little bit there, but then I remembered the first two episodes and my eyes un-squinted. There's nothing wrong with being a follower of religion, or with being humble, but I get where you're coming from talking about Rose specifically. And I think Envy would work perfectly for Lyra; you could easily see jealousy in her when she looked at Ed at Youswell. And no, making Rose Lust didn't sit well with me either. The same way it never sits well with me when people make Winry Lust.

Woah, really? I don't remember that bit, but that would make sense. And your Sloth example actually makes a lot of sense. I always was wondering about that particular power, and now I get it, so thanks.  And thank you, you'd be surprised (or maybe...not) how much time I spend thinking about that sort of thing.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right. They wanted to be immortal, but I think they also wanted to have a lot of power and influence, and Hohenheim probably couldn't do that alone. He needed her to be there, thus, the Greed.

And thanks, I love reading your responses, and I always squee when I see you've uploaded another piece of FMA art. You're so welcome.

Thank you! :'D And good to know!
I could imagine there would be a lot of similarities between writings and comics! :'D

Thank you! Happy to hear! :'D

Oh whoops, sorry! I probably should have specified since alchemists are so often compared to gods and considering Dante's narcissism, she might see herself as above all of that and might look down on Rose for having faith and her humility, if for no other reason than Dante either doesn't understand it or doesn't resepct it. I'm so sorry, didn't mean to insinuate anything about religion or its followers! :'D Thank you for saying it though, it's nice to know people will speak up when I say something shitty!

A lot of the first series is fuzzy to me by now, but both were things highlighted in a series analysis somewhere on Tumblr. I wish I could rememeber where I found both posts, sorry for not leaving a reference! :'D I'm more for hypotheticals and AUs and such, but I do admire the analysis people post on the first series! I think it's great to ponder and think about the series we watch! :'D Lots of insight and interesting ideas in that area!
I mean, it makes sense. They were lovers and accomplices in horrible deeds, likewise with how Dante couldn't just replace Hoenheim, he probably couldn't do that either, at least not before they broke apart.

Not sure how much I can bring to the table, but it's a relief to hear! Thank you! XD And gosh you're so nice to me, so happy to hear my work can be a positive influence! ;U; Thank you so much!

You're welcome.
And yeah, I think there is.

You're welcome (again).

Oh no, that's alright, I knew you didn't mean to offend. And yeah, they really are. I really like how in that first episode Ed brags so much about how alchemists are the closest things to Gods there are, and yet he doesn't even really believe it himself. He's really just taunting Rose, and I find it kind of amusing. And yeah, now that you explain it a bit more I really do get where you're coming from. And it would make sense as well that she would choose Rose to become one of her Homunculi; she'd want to surround herself with people who are inferior to her and that she can control. Rose and Lyra both suit that criteria perfectly.
And I know you didn't mean anything by it, so don't worry. I was just being weird. And it wasn't a shitty thing to say at all, I just kind of misunderstood what you meant at first, but when I re-read it it made sense. So don't worry yourself.

Yeah, it get's a little fuzzy sometimes, although I have to say I'm a bit surprised that I forgot about that little scene with Dante and Hohenheim, usually my memory for that kind of thing is pretty good. Fictional things are about the only thing I can ever really remember. *laughs at the irony* *cries at my school grades*
And no, that's okay. Being the FMA otaku that I am, I'm pretty sure I'll stumble across it by accident eventually. And yeah, I'm the same. My brain is completely filled to the bring with Fullmetal Alchemist AU's that I just really want to write stories for, but I don't have the time or the patience to do all of it. I can barely update the fan-fiction I've got going on now (if you like angsty Ed stuffs, you may or may not like it)!
And it does make sense, and I seriously, SERIOUSLY hope that you can find the time and energy to make this into a comic, because this idea is absolutely AMAZING and I think every FMA fangirl in the world would want to read it!

Well that's...interesting... Will you make a story out of this? I still don't see Wrath as the perfect sin for Rose, though...but I'd still like to read more of this interpretation through story mode.

I really wish I could, I have so many story ideas but I can't write to save my own life. :'D

And I can understand that, Rose hardly comes across as wrathful, it was just an idea that stuck with me. I guess though, in hindsight, Dante could be trying to provoke them by pulling out what they've feared seeing in themselves the most. But then there's how Dante would even get that information in the first place. It's awfully messy. :'D

Lol I know the feeling...I'm kinda having writer's block now myself... And I SHOULD be continuing my story too, it's been months...

Yea, but to be fair Dante also doesn't seem to be a perfect Wrath, either. Sloth definitely fits her a lot more.

The thing about THIS version of Dante, though, the Lyra Dante... If she DOES become a homunculus...will Lyra actually become the dominant memories in the homunculus created from her body's image, or Dante's memories? Now THAT would open up another can of worms to ponder about...
