Description Just been fiddling around with the idea of Noah crossing over into Amestris, and becoming an alchemist of the people.

I don't know anything about alchemy so apologies in advance for the circles! I know they're more likely to be drawn on the ground than tattooed, as they are used to create and repair as far as I've seen. I might come back and redo the circles at some point if I ever get a better understanding of how they're supposed to work.

And because I'm a sucker for anything that looks vaguely cool but impractical, the circle on her forearms is not an original idea, it is directly taken from the movie Constantine. Kind of overkill maybe with the two circles on the back of her hands? Not even sure any of them would work right.

This looks really cool! I can see her having some transmutation marks on her if she were to be in amestris ^_^
beautifully drawn!!

Thank you so much! ^^ Happy to hear! I'd imagine she'd have a solid foundation to work from with the knowledge she obtained from Ed at least! :'D

your welcome! I agree with you :3 I can imagine her being an alchemist since she does have the skill for it. X3

Yeah! 8D And I'm really curious about what would happen to her mind reading powers in crossing the Gate, if they would be traded in for the ability to transmute or if she still retains it somehow. If she still has the ability she could become a very powerful alchemist, seeing as she used this same ability to get information from Ed, and learning alchemy herself would give her the ability to use that information. On the other hand, it might mean she would be persecuted again if word got out about it. An alchemist who can read other alchemists' minds and use their knowledge could stir up a lot of noise. D:

I can somewhat see it either be traded or she keeps it and also have alchemy. its a mystery to me XD. D: so true! I think if she does live in amestris thats probably what she will be - a powerful alchemist who has the ability to see into their minds and dreams to get information and use that information to stir up trouble or such.

I have no idea how that would work either. XD;;; But it's very fun to theorize!

I probably should have phrased that better, I meant she might become a victim of persecution as she was in Germany if her skills were discovered. Sorry about the confusion! :'D But it is true that she could become a powerful alchemist with those powers! In the end she might have no other choice than to invade people's dreams (a risky operation as she most likely has to actually break in somewhere to reach them) to build her powers, if only to protect herself from the people coming after her.

Not to mention if she is perceived as a threat to public safety because of her powers (if the military ever finds out), the whole scenario could not only be a horrible reflection of her experiences in Germany, but also a twisted self-fulfilling prophecy as she has to become the powerful alchemist they were fearing to be able to keep herself alive in the first place. So all around a pretty awful situation for Noah. ;______;

XD yeah lol yes its always fun to theorize!!

its alright! yeah and usually certain people would try targeting her due to how powerful she is or just her skills she have. True true o3o

;____; i agree, that would be a really horrible experience to Noah. gosh noah cant have a good relaxing time without being feared of being a target DX

XD yeeeeees

DX she cant and i feel so bad for her. Heck i wouldnt blame her if suddenly she decided to be a bad guy due to so much dislike and being used and just aaggg. its like people see her as nothing but a tool to use and not a person and that just Q_Q that just sad

This looks really cool. As far as the circles go they look rather good, and I think I remember seeing them during the show at some point, so they'd most likely work. As for the combined halves on her arms, they wouldn't. It's impossible to link them together the way they're positioned on her arm so they'd be more for show than practicality.
Sorry, I actually spend a reasonable amount of time contemplating the actual functionality of alchemy...
This drawing looks amazing by the way. I always liked Noah as a character, and I think she'll make a great wife for Al! (I would have said Ed six months ago but I've really started digging the Ed!Lyra ship so...yeah...)

Thank you! :'D

And don't apologize for leaving critique! :'D It's nice to hear from someone who actually knows how alchemy works! Shame the circle on her forearms wouldn't work out, but now I know at least! Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so happy to hear you enjoy the drawing! :'D
And hey, another Noah fan! 8D And I can agree to that! I'd imagine Noah and Alphonse could get along great!
I still ship Ed and Noah on occasion, I have several continuities for several ships and plots so that I can keep track of them all separately. XD;;

You're welcome.

And that's alright. Well, I wouldn't say I really know properly how it works, I definitely wouldn't be able to perform it myself, I'm terrible at science. But I think I have a basic understanding of it, and in a world where it doesn't exist, that's probably a lot more than I actually really need.    But yeah, for the Transmutation Circle to actually activate, it needs to be completely connected. There can't be a single gap in the circle itself or the energy can't flow properly. And even if it was only a small little nudge in the surface, it would still activate but the power wouldn't be able to flow properly and the Transmutation would rebound.

And you're welcome (again). All your drawings are amazing, and I really enjoy looking at them.
Yeah, I really liked her character. Despite believing that she didn't need a home, she still did whatever she could to find somewhere where maybe she wouldn't be ridiculed and where she might be able to belong, and I can respect that. In the end, she knew she had made a mistake and regretted it, and that's all anyone can ask, really.
Yeah, it's hard not to, especially when, as Alfons mentioned, she was the first girl Ed ever actually took an interest in (although whether or not that was because of her resemblance to Rose was never mentioned) and it's easy to imagine them getting together, but at the same time, Alphonse got along so well with Rose before his memory loss, and it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to imagine him getting on just as well with her otherworldly counterpart. That and having someone slightly familiar around other than Ed would probably make things a little easier to get used to our world.

From the sounds of it you seem to have a good grasp of it! :'D
Yikes, I didn't realize gaps in the circle could be so devastating. It makes sense though, I don't think I've even seen as much as a wobbly transmutation circle, especially not in functional use! :'D

I am so happy to hear that, thank you so much!

Same here! I got a bit of a different vibe though, that she was desperate to find a home and hoped to find one in Amestris where she wasn't persecuted? Maybe I'm just nitpicking on small words here, in which case I'm sorry! Either way I found her a very sympathetic character, and to this day it is so sad to see her excluded from so many Conqueror of Shamballa fics. D: There's always some weird excuse for her not being there in spite of her and Edward seemingly making up by the end.

I'd completely forgotten about that, but that's a very good point! :'D And it's not a stretch to say her resemblance to Rose may have had something to do with it, in both Edward and Alphonse's case.

Terribly sorry for the late reply! I am horrible at keeping up with comments! :'D

Yeah, I guess I do (this is the result of binge watching and re-watching both the shows so often as to begin questioning my sanity). Yeah, there really can't be any gaps in the circle.

You're very welcome.

I think I may have worded my thing wrong. I agree that she was desperate for a home, what I meant was that she knew that she didn't need one, she just really wanted one. And yeah, I noticed that too. It's kinda annoying, she was such a cool character.

Yay, someone who agrees. A lot of people deny that Noah is Rose's counterpart and it's kind of annoying considering that our world is supposed to be the mirror image of theirs, just with different turning points in history. That and just the physical resemblance should be enough in the first place.

That's okay. You get a lot of them, it has to be tedious to sort through. :'D  That and you do have a life with stuff you need to do.

Mibibo In reply to Jayde-Airs [2016-05-31 22:31:57 +0000 UTC]

Nothing wrong with that! :'D It's interesting to get into a show on its fundamental levels.

Oh, terribly sorry about that! :'D I think maybe I misunderstood a bit. Thanks for clarifying!
Yeah, it is annoying to just see her ditched like that. A lot of the time I feel the stories could be much more interesting with Noah there, regardless of whether or not they stay in "our" world or go back to Amestris. But I don't know if that's because it's hardly ever done or because the reasons not to are usually not very well thought out. D: It doesn't make sense to me why the Elrics would not bring Noah along with them to Amestris if they had the oppurtunity to do so, especially if the author establishes that they're still supposed to be friends? I rarely ever see authors trying to stir up conflict to break them apart, but it always ends up with leaving her behind be it because they either forget all about her or find some contrived reason for why she can't come along. It feels.... weird. D: (whoops, ramble!)

Well I mean there are small physical differences between the two, but even Alfons and London!Ed weren't spitting images of their Amestrian counterparts. In the movie, Fritz Lang even theorizes that the genders of counterparts might not even be consistent between worlds, so with how Noah resembles Rose already it only makes sense for her to be Rose's counterpart? I didn't even realize this argument was going on. D:

Thank you for being so understanding! It can be difficult to find the right words at times, some days work better than others and then some days I can barely even focus on anything. >_< It's frustrating because I never know what I'll be able to do from day to day.

Hahahaha, definitely not! :'D  It really is, and I love discussing it with you!

No that's all right, I'm really bad for not making what I mean clear, and I tend to end up in a lot of bad situations because I'm so terrible at explaining what I mean (I tend to offend people without meaning to). And that's all right. And yeah, you're so right. I don't read much post CoS fics, because personally I prefer Brotherhood, but nevertheless the 03 series is amazing in it's own right, and I do read a little, and Noah is never there, and it's never explained why (at least not well) and it's annoying because Noah is such a great character.
Exactly! Ed knows how much Noah wants to go to his world, and if he ever found a way back there's no way in Hell he wouldn't take her with him. Yeah, if they really can't have Noah in the story, at least give a good conflict to justify why.

No, they're not, but they're still alike enough to make the connection. Yeah, I remember that. (I really now wanna find a fic where Mustang is a prissy chic :'D )
Yeah, it's not a very large or common argument, but still big enough to annoy me. -_-

And you're welcome. It is, trust me, I know. I suck a words. And I'm the same. Sometimes I can cruise through all my school work without a problem for the entire day and other days I can't even focus enough to figure out what we're even doing in the lesson. It is indeed extremely frustrating, never fear, I understand.
