This is amazing! I would SO love to work at a place like this. This picture is so wonderful, it looks like someone actually traveled back in time and captured an image of two women at work.

Thanks for the nice comment. It is fun to blow away everyone's pre-conceptions of the culture, and make people understand that these were normal people going about their business--just in another culture. :~}

Thanks for the fave as well, my friend.

That...yes, exactly! It's fun seeing people who aren't history geeks go to re-enactments and see how different peoples lives were compared to modern life.

You're most welcome!

It is a crowd-pleaser here in Seattle. I'd love to see some of my DA buds there this summer.

is the place bassed of a certain time period?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MicheleHansen In reply to coragus [2012-02-29 02:08:47 +0000 UTC]

It is dated exactly today (early evening on February 28), in The Year of Our Lord, 1376.

We use Gregorian dates to keep ourselves, and guests from going bonkers. Feb. 28 would have been around 8 days ago on the period-accurate, Julian Calendar. Just a few days off...

It also has an exact setting: It is in the locale of South Cadbury, Sommerset, England.

Our overlord, Sir Jeffry, is a hedge-knight holding in fealty of the Bishop of Wells.
