I like the Phoenix motiff for Easter I think it's rather appropriate hence me doing another phoenix easter egg this year. He's a bit more creature-ish looking than last year's [link]Done with dyes and a red sharpie

No because it's a hard boiled egg, you peel the shell right off

Yeah, I know, but...I guess I thought it might soak through or something (eggshells are somewhat porous).

Well I've never had a problem with that. Actual easter egg dye has seeped through before but not sharpie in my experiences.
