Description yeah, I need to get a better picture of this now that it's really really done. This is the sort of done picture in which I still need to use the petina (The acid that makes the solder black). It's done, I've just been too lazy to take a decent picture of it since I've finished it.

Haha, thanks! The yellow is some sheet glass I picked up at a local glazier. It's just stained glass work. You cut it with a rolling blade dipped in oil, break it down the line, wrap the edges of the glass in copper tape, and then solder it together. It's nowhere near as difficult as it looks (or sounds, for that matter). Any glass workshop could help you build something like this = )

thatΒ΄s very interesant. it doesnt sound difficult!... anyway it has a lot of imagination, and thatΒ΄s the most difficult part i think.. being original.
and you did it so well here, congratz!!

^_^ Yep. All you need is a square edge, and then you solder the edges like on a flat piece. The vines were curled around the end of a pencil (or it may have been one of the petina brushes, but it doesn't really matter), and the leaves and grapes were made separately and soldered onto the vine. Glad you like it!

Thanks! It really not as bad as it looks. Since you've done it before, you know the worst parts are patterns and cutting. I think a class would be a really good idea. I haven't personally taken any, but my dad used to be a glass artist, so I suppose working with him counts as my lessons, right?

yeah Having an artist dad would really help xD I'm kind of on my own I mean I'm the only sort-of-ful-time-artist! Lol I think soldering is really difficult! I am scared of the iron too coz I know it's really hot since it melts the metal!!

lol, I don't really write many journals (*cough-any*). I don't usually do glass, to be honest. This is my second piece. I enjoy it, though, so hopefully I'll get some more pieces up in the future!

Same here ^_^ My dad used to do stuff like this, so he taught me how about two years ago. It's really not all that dificult. You could probably find a glass workshop in your area that gives classes.
