Description Spinosaurus aegypticus, the Egyptian spine-dinosaur. At 60 feet long and 12 tons in weight this was the largest theropod dinosaur and the largest meat eating animal ever to walk the Earth, although, unlike other dinosaurs, it swam more than it walked; hunting giant fish in the rivers and swamps of North Africa during the mid-Cretaceous, around 95 mya.

Nice how you added some whisker-like filaments with a short length instead of the long ones that are usually drawn. I like those eyes on the sail too.

60 ft is too much though, 50 ft is the largest specimen there is at the moment. It also weighed only about 7.5 tons. Spinosaurus is just a really stretched out animal in comparison to other theropods.

Thanks! It took a while to come up for a pattern for the sail. Are there new estimates that say 50ft and 7.5 tons is the max size? I haven't heard of that yet.

The 2014 paper stated something of 15 meters (50 ft), look here for example. Those 60 ft estimates are from before the 2014 paper.
For the weight I thought the 2014 paper said something of 7 tons, while randomdinos and Franoys did a a test Β too quite a while ago. They ended up with 7557 kg (16 660.5 lbs)

I think 60ft is a little oversized. More likely 50-55ft.
