Character: Sebastian Michaelis

Why Sebastian Michaelis is part of the Project: INK & COLOR

Where should I even start with Sebastian? Obviously, I love him as a character. The loyalty and devotion, the fact that he obeys any order and every order without ever failing is just breathtaking. Even though it is because of the contract between him and Ciel, and him being a demon so pretty much having no limits, it is impossible not to wish to be able to be like that. Failure hurts and I guess everybody would like to never screw up anything.

As for his personality, I love his lack of sympathy towards others, the sadism and cruelty. As much as I wish to be loving and devoted, I do believe that having those three "qualities", as much as they would cause damage around, would be so much easier for the soul. Because nobody would be able to harm me in any way.

I guess Sebastian resembles a lot what I think on my dark days. When everyone around me just keeps sticking their fingers in my wounds.

On a more materialistic matter, Kuroshituji used to be the main topic of my past fanart, with which I pretty much learned to color the way I wanted to. I feel really sad that I haven't drawn anything of it lately, but of course I couldn't keep it out of my project, as it had such an everlasting impact on my personality but also on my skills.

ABOUT PROJECT INK & COLOR

During the last couple of years, I've had a really rough time. I was diagnosed with severe depression, after months and months of struggling with it without even knowing I had it. Simple tasks such as getting out of bed every day became extremely hard, and I ended up abandoning all my projects and art because I just couldn't do it.

As soon as I got out of high school, I tried to get into an university, but after successfully passing the entrance exam, I completely broke down and was forced to take a year off. I tried to study for another field, one that I loved even more, but when I tried to get into the university a year later, I completely failed because I just wasn't getting better.

Every day is a challenge and all that remains of my old self is this little project.

A little project made of simple drawings with essential tools: ink, colored pencils and the cheapest watercolors. A little project where all the characters that somehow left something in me that I still cherish even after years.

Project INK creates new worlds for me when I need to escape this one.
Project COLOR brightens a dark mind full of dark thoughts.

They make it easier to bear.
