Description 'I believe in Jim Gordon. I believe in Harvey Dent. I believe in Gotham City' - Batman, Long Halloween

Part 3 of this particular style that i'm having so much fun with!
(part 2 here [link] )
I'll be back with the little comic strips as soon as i get tired of this hehe

This is MY favorite team-up ever. Jim Gordon is my #1 favorite character. I'll read anything with him in it. Speaking of, have you read the recent Detective Comics? Why do bad things happen to Jim Gordon???? I feel so bad for him! T_T

Also, i love Harvey Dent but I hate 2-face. Ugh. Poor harvey, forever lost.

Oh, and Tim Sale is one of my favorite artist ever.

If you haven't read Long Halloween you should read it. Now. Classic Badass Batman. Lots of detective work, too. And Mafia guys!

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning!
Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental
hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the
staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so
they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the
machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died.
Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on
a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you
and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and
she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste
this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You
will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room
(this is so fake but whatever p.s don`t fix the typo)

Nice, You can never go wrong with Jim.
I'm the same, I'll read anything that he's in. I can't wait for the James Jr Story Arc Graphic Novel to come out in November...

Long Halloween is my favorite Batman story. It's pretty much the whole reason I read comics. I love what you did here. You really captured the feel of the characters. And I think this and Dark Victory are pretty much the only Two-face stories worth reading. It seems like the most interesting part about him is his origin. Although I like Robin: Year One too and you could say that's as much a Two-face story as anything.

Thanks!

Long Halloween and Dark Victory are definitely one of the best bat-stories out there... Jeph Loeb is a great writer... Hush was good, too

I like Robin: Year one, too... and yep, it's definitely a 2face story

I think Hush was the last thing I enjoyed by Loeb (not a fan of his work at Marvel, although I confess I haven't read much of it). Which is a shame because I really love all of his Batman stories so much.
I'd say only like half of Year One is Two-face. Hatter and Freeze are in there for a nice eclectic mix of classic villains. Plus there's that Shrike guy who tied in to Dixon's run on Nightwing (totally worth a look if you are a Dick Grayson fan).

I'm not familiar with Marvel stuff, unfortunately (i just watch the movies )...

I like Nightwing but only as supporting character... i'm really more of a "Batman" fan in general (probably why i only paid attention to Dick when he started being batman, haha)... i think the only nightwing issues i've read were the ones tied in with Batman: murderer/fugitive

I'm assuming Shrike's the other boy from that school/gang thing...?

I'm not much into Marvel either, but the crossover Loeb wrote called Ultimatum was probably the most widely critically panned book in recent history. As far as I can tell from the one issue of it I read, it deserves it.
And yeah, that kid shows up in Nightwing as a new assassin calling himself Shrike. Dixon had a pretty good run, but afterwards was Devon Robinson's run which had Dick get raped and then join the mob if I remember right. It was a strange time...

i see...
I heard about the rape thing somewhere... weird haha!
it seem like a lot of writers like to make the batboys..uh..rape-able...
i mean, that's basically how Damian came to be right? Also Tim's recent Red Robin adventures...

I might check out Dixon's Nightwing run, then. Shrike-boy was interesting in Year One...

I think Damian was a test tube baby. That's what I got out of Batman #666 at least. But yeah, Tim was totally almost raped. Good thing Cass was there to pull him out of the fire.
I generally like Dixon's work. It's a bit campy and I don't really care for Scott McDaniel (the artist for most of Dixon's run), but it's good fun. I really like the end as it builds toward his confrontation with Blockbuster (which actually didn't happen until a while into Devin Grayson's tenure on the title). Actually, Grayson had quite a few good issues during her run. That is, up until the whole rape thing... Everything after that was pretty bad (although to be fair, the title was dragged into the War Games crossover which was a bit jarring).
Dixon also had an arc called Nightwing: Year One (along with Scott Beaty just like Robin: Year One). That was really good. I fear I've rambled on for far too long. Sorry.

Yea, he was.
Scott mcdaniel is really a hit-and-miss for me... but i don't really mind him
I do like Dixon's writing
I've read the Nightwing: year one and yea, it was really good! Though i have to admit i read it more for Jason than for Dick
No problem! It's always nice to talk to a fellow fan
