i can try to help!! ill just explain what i did specifically so sorry if it gets confusing or somewhat unrelated omg
(also i dont know other programs well except for firealpaca and csp, so im saying this based on what i know and used from clip studio paint)
so i obviously made this in csp... and i used a user-made brush that already had painty textures on it, called omizu. idk if you use csp but heres the link for brushes in any case so you can see what they look like -->Ā assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/dā¦
1. i just kinda colored it normally, with the same painty brush i used for the lines, and then shaded it somewhat messily with contrasting colors (with the same brush)Ā
2. and then it gets weird bc i used csp's "colorize" option after copying the color layer and then adjusted the hue and changed the blending mode til it gave it the more harsh paint-like look (colorize probably isnt necessary if youre fine with adding random patches of color yourself)
3. after i got my colors how i wanted them i used the same brush i did for the lines and colors and used it to make some lines thinner and sharper at certain points, so it somewhat blends with the coloring
so basically like... getting or making brushes that are already made for painting is a huge step omg
playing with textures is a large part of it as well
and you probably know this last thing, but keeping imperfections can make make the painty coloring look much more natural too, so dont be afraid to keep some things messy
