Four Down! Three to go now!

This one was particularly difficult for me. Aside from the fact that drawing much of anything technological is nigh-on impossible for me, I then had to pony-form the Iron man suit. I almost ripped through the paper there was so much erasing being done.

Buuut, not only that... there was then the issue of just who would be Iron Mare.

See, Iron Mare was originally just going to be Iron Pony. Iron Pony was going to be Applejack, a reference to the episode "Fall Weather Friends" and the "Iron Pony Competition." Honestly I can't be the only one who had this: [link] image spring to mind the second he heard those words.

So yeah. Originally this was Applejack, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt that Pinkie was better suited to the role (pun semi-intended). There's the fact that Pinkie loves to party, something that Tony Stark does a great deal of... There's how Tony Stark gets a little off his rocker given his alcoholism habit, and, well let's face it; Pinkie defenestrated her rocker... Pinkie also fits pretty well since she's an Earth Pony, and thus has no magic or flight capabilities, just as Tony Stark has no actual superpowers...

So yeah... Pinkie fit better than I thought.

Still, it was a real hassle coming around to this decision...

This cover is based off of "The Invincible Iron Man" #61: [link] (about a quarter of the way doen the page). Not a very well known cover or anything, but it fit my purposes well...

Gilda is Pinkie Pie's enemy here, of course. It seems she's developed some sort of grudge against Pinkie. Perhaps she thinks she stole Rainbow Dash away from her? And the subsequent obsession drove her insane enough to steal a bomb from Equestria's Nuclear Stockpile?

...waaaaaaiiit... Equestria has a Nuclear Stockpile?

Whatever the case may be, Gilda is based on the Iron Man villain, Killer Shrike: [link] (I couldn't get Marauder to coincide in any way with Griffon. Deal with it.) Killer Shrike is actually a pretty low level villain... not competent enough to pull off something like this but hey... I deal with what works.

Thus, Gilda became Killer Hawke. I considered Killer Eagle, but that didn't have the same "flow" to it...

...In retrospect, why did I misspell Hawk and write it as Hawke? Was my mind focused on Ethan Hawke for some reason? Or Ladyhawke? ...Usually I'm not a fan of the "Poor Literacy is Kewl" train of thought...

...huh...
