Never played Halo, so I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about
The idea was just sort of random, and I think it came more from playing Zelda, Twilight Princess more than anything.
And Thanks, though this is the old version. I am currently in the process of repainting him, because you can see the old paint job is incredibly shaky and messy (I used an old, frayed brush, and my hands are super shaky). It is still the same idea and the same look, though it will hopefully look a whole lot neater and better. After Anime expo, I'll finish him and post a picture.
If you do, I would very much like to see it. If you look at some of my other customs, that I believe I posted on here, I sort of incorporated the same style into them. It is definitely one of my favorite paint schemes. So I would be very interested in seeing it.

Wow, that is rather strange that it ended up like that. And hopefully I will get to it soon. I actually started a couple months ago, but got distracted by school, costumes, and all that.
Saber Fang huh? That will look pretty epic. Is it going to be red outline, or some other color? I'd like to see another color, personally. Red would be pretty cool, if not overused a bit on the Saber Fang.

Yeh i have decided I will do it.
Zabre's missing his bottom jaw so i'll remake it like i did with Liger's head, and the left bit that a gun slips onto broke off. He has multi-coloured/patterned caps as well because I had to use his for Shieldy, so he's got Zabre and Beserk Fury caps on him.
He'll be posey like Dragon and Wolf Blade as well. And with holidays now I can get him done quickly, i just need the paint.
alright cool

It's really hard to repair them.
Liger's I used a small sheet of cardboard, cut it to fit and then smothered it with hotglue to give it a shiny plastic effect. It looks kinda bad up close but after painting you NEARLY can't tell the difference - at least my family couldn't lol.
The hardest part it making the bits that stick onto other bits (like the ring at the end of the head which slides onto the bar-bit on the head. that was almost impossible to make because it was so small.
The head's very loose, and doesn't fit 100% but it's better than nothing.
As for Zabre's jaw... well, this will be my opportunity to make Zabre Demon. MUAHAAHAHAHA!!!!
lol.
umm.. paint... I actually used red acrylic paint for his red bits, as well as red spray paint for his claws-only. Black and silver spray paint everywhere else and gold acrylic on some little details. The small detailed parts I did black (like piping) I actually took the lazy way out, sprayed a bit of black paint into a container and used that before it dried up.
lol.
For Zabre I'll probably get acrylic paints for his blue bits and spray paint him black as a base.
oh caps are fine, i spraypainted Wolf Blade's gold ones, only issue is that on Zabre they have different markings - so i gotta go find some good ones or rearrange them to look good..... or cut them. lol.

I guessed it would be hard. That must require a lot of hot glue, and paint makes everything better.
You could user wire or something like that, I think I know what you are talking about, but I'm not sure.
Yea, I'm sure it is better than a headless Zaber.
Even more demonic than it already looks like?
I tried acrylics, but I guess I used crappy ones cause it scratched off. But, Model paint works fine for me. I also hate spray paint, cause I've had such a hard time with it.
Ah, I see. Well, if you can arrange them to look cool, I am sure it won't be that big of a problem.
And, I need your opinion, I am thinking about painting my Schneider, but I am not to sure if I should or not. The paint job would be sort of a Tron like style, except with perhaps green, or a light blue or something like that for the light that runs through their clothing or whatever. Do you think I should?

MidnightLiger0 In reply to ShadoWolfozo [2011-07-08 07:05:17 +0000 UTC]
Zaber just gained an awesome level. Alright, I'll have to check it out.
Well, I've heard of others doping acrylic, but I think they had to cover it with a clear coat. I just know from my experience, that it failed miserably, but again, I was using the cheap stuff.
I prefer painting them singularly, I don't know why. Also, I have always either put it on to light, to heavy, or the spray paint was old and crappy. That, and it makes more of a mess for me than I like.
Oh, luck is on your side. Thats good. although, perhaps having some of a different pattern might have been interesting. But 'm sure it will look cool either way.
I did think about that as an option, but the thing is, I haven't seen Orange Testors paint in the Micheals store, so I had to abandon that option for the moment. I'll probably wait until I go back to the store, to see if maybe they have a paint set with orange in it. But, I guess I could always see about going to an actually hobby shop, or getting some online, since your right, it would look really good with the Schneider. In fact, I know they have it online, but I just wonder about the shipping. It would probably cost at least as much as the paint itself >.<
But then, would the blades be orange to? Maybe red? And the caps would most likely be orange.

ShadoWolfozo In reply to MidnightLiger0 [2011-07-08 08:31:48 +0000 UTC]
yes i've heard others have used the clear coating on acrylic painted zoids. works a charm if done right
and I use White Knight Squirts spray paint. it's the 2nd or something cheapest one and works great on any surface. I usually put it on too heavy as well, but lucky enough when it dries, idk it must spread out or something because it looks fine.
yes, though I'm still like 8 caps short, so i'm using left over liger zero, Beserk Fury and Seismosaurus caps still.
It's worth waiting for them to restock or buying it elsewhere. Trust me, unless you're deadset on making him blue or green, wait for the orange to come in.
and yes i know.. I recently bought HMM Schneider (hasn't arrived yet) and shipping alone cost $28 US. jeez >.>
shipping is expensive.
as for the blades... orange would suit the rest of the model, taking in mind the discs in Tron are the same as the suit. red would look nice, so would silver. orange sounds best though.
It sounds like a lot of orange and black, but it looks really cool in my head, and can't wait to see it in a photo

Well, it certainly never worked for me. Always dripped and looked terrible.
You have a Seismosaurus? And, I'm sure you'll find a way to make it look awesome, even with different caps.
Well, I've just never seen it at Micheals. Though, it's not like I looked for that color.
I bought the Schneider too! Thats why I'm painting my original. But, I bought it from somewhere in America. The shipping was much less, though the price was a lot more. But, after I did the math, I figured it was actually cheaper to buy it in America.
Last HMM Zoid I bought was from Japan, and the shipping was just as much as the model.
I'm just worried that it might be too much orange. I'm not sure how much orange I'm going to be doing for the armor and body, but it might be too much. Perhaps I could mix the paint, and get a darker orange? I think I'll save the blades for last.
Yea, but I think it'll be a while before I actually start. I'm in the process of drawing the Schneider out (really crapily though), and seeing what patterns might look better and stuff. I think that might be the closest thing to it for a while. At least until I finish Shattered Dream (black and red outlined one). Got to get off my lazy but and start on that >.>

different paints, maybe.
yeh, but it fell apart like all my other zoids years ago, and even more during house-moving.
I'm trying to rebuild it, but it's missing a few essential bits like the bit that connects the neck and body.
It was the largest and most challenging zoid to build, despite being only Hasbro model.
ahh, lol. well Gameworld has a lot of paints there, good ones designed for use on all materials but their a bit pricy.
I got mine from... Korea I think. Schneider plus shipping cost just under $100 AUS, on ebay, thank god i saw it though, some are selling for nearly $200.
then look at Liger Zero (standard) and he's going for near $200 wherever you look. so weird, schneider (and it's far newer) is cheaper XD
Oh well, I actually never got the hasbro CAS units and was extremely dissapointed. I know I can get them on ebay, but I'd rather save money for HMM because they're worth it.
I bought both my Great Sabre and Irvine's Command wolf from Japan and shipping wasn't that bad (roughly $15) now it's like $28.
Yeh, it will be a lot of orange. You could always keep Schneider's original blue blade colour, nice contrast between the orange then.
Hahaha, go look up schneider line-arts and just use those, much easier and quicker.
yeh can't wait to see SD finished, it's gonna look cool
BTW, how many zoids (and what are they) have you got anyway?

Aww, that sucks. Moving would be pretty hard on a Zoid.
Don't know if I have ever heard of Gameworld, we might not have one close to us.
Ah, mine cost 100.98 US. I bought my fist Liger Zero on Ebay, but the prices have risen so much. Thats why I go to either Big Bad Toy Store, or Ami Ami for the HMM models. Their prices are much cheaper than that. Liger Zero on BBTS is 74.99, and shipping depends on where you live.
Lucky! I wanted Irvine's Command Wolf so bad, but I think last time I checked, it was sold out.
I got my Schneider relatively cheap for Zoids these days I believe. Around 20-30 dollars, and he was brand new. Schneider was my favorite, so it was absolutely necessary for me.
I guess shipping depends on where you live, where you buy, and all that.
I could, but I don't know if it will go with the Tron like theme. And, I prefer to do the line art myself, because I really need the practice. It ha taken me like 2 days, and I'm still not done with it, but it is the best I can do with my abilities.
I can't wait to see how it looks either. I can already tell, that it will look much better than the original.
Uhh, well I have 31 as of now, and the HMM Schneider will make 32. Perhaps I'll make a journal listing them all. Unless you really want me to list them all here.
I'll probably post pictures of them all, most likely when I dust them soon (oh god. That'll be fun)
One that I was really disappointed in not being able to get was the Berserk Fury. I hope it gets to be a HMM, so I can add it to my collection.

Oh, that sucks. I can imagine it would be hard on the Zoids.
I live in the US.
I would get Van's, just because of Zeke. But that is your own choice.
Thats pretty cool. I haven't seen Zoids around here is a while. Last one I saw was the Energy Liger I bought from toys R us. You should have gotten the Command Wolf, even though it was broken.
I'd like to save up for the HMMs as well, though I think after I get all of the CAS Units as I am sure they will make, and the Berserk Fury, I just might have to stop. They cost quite a bit.
Yea, they do. Unfortunately, I have little patience. I must have rage quited so many times. But, its almost done now, and it'll be worth it.
Aww, poor Rev Raptor and Gravity Wolf. And they are so totally worth it.
Thats sad that it broke as well. I know if I ever have to move, I'll be the one packing, and moving them. I wouldn't trust anyone else with them.
Liger Zero is badass, but you got to admit the Lavender Dragon with Egg beaters on his back is pretty awesome as well. Something else I loved about the Fury was it's coloring. It wasn't black and red to show it was evil. It was Lavender, and yet still pretty scary looking.

yeh D:
ahhhh.. that'd explain why you've never heard of Gameworld XD
yeh, I prob will. Zeke's just too cool.
Hope they make one of Raven's zoids and pop Shadow into the collection It'd be a hit zoid, especially if Shadow's wings could move muaaaahhaha!!!!
I haven't seen any zoids in stores for years and years. Not even op shops or 2nd hand stores.
and I know..... should have got it >.>
I'll probably get my HMM numbers to somewhere between 5 and 10, then stop. I want to at least get Blade Liger AB and Liger Zero.
HMM's ARE expensive... sadly.
I reckon though, after that I'll probably keep an eye out for Hasbro's again. They're the best for customizing and I really want to get my hands on all the Hasbro CAS units and many of the other ligers.
and yeh, when it's finshed, it's always worth it.
I know..... Rev Raptor was like, the zoid I carried around EVERYWHERE. Then I lost his visor at the shops one day D: I even remember WHERE I lost it... and that was like 7 years ago. Uhhh..... sad times. I'm hoping I still have him... he's just... hiding.
same goes for Grav wolf. I hated how he was a motorbike, but I loved that he was a wolf, not my fav zoid, but he wasn't discarded deliberately.
Yeh.... but most of them were broken/missing pieces BEFORE moving. it just got worse after moving because everything was moved around D: the only one fully intact was Barrigator because he still had his box (I bought him at the markets about a week before we moved) and Zabat which was carefully packed into a box with the rest of my zoid pieces.
Fury's colour I didn't particularly like, but like grav's design, I didn't hate either. like you said, it wasn't a big, stand out in the crowd raging colour, it was a calm colour. Even though he was a bad ass zoid that was only just beaten by Zero.

If they did make one with Shadow, it would be very popular. I think there are more Raven and Shadow fans than Van and Zeke fans. If Shadow's wings could move, that would be insane. Isn't the figure quite small?
Thats a lot of HMMs, but waiting till after that to buy the Hasbros is probably a smart idea. Maybe then they will be cheaper.
That sucks that you lost it. Could you not get it back?
I was once going to get the Gravity Wolf, but I didn't like that it was a bike either.
Moving would have been hard if they were missing pieces. Did you disassemble them first before moving, or keep them in mostly one piece? I have yet to move anywhere, so I haven't had to move my Zoids. But, when I do, I am not looking forward to it.
Yea. It was a calm color, rather Ironic since that is the last word I would use to describe it.

and yes, zeke's bout twice or three times the size of the pilots...
it would still be awesome XD
yeh, my hopes are that.
with everyone wanting HMM's i reckon hasbro's will go down in price.
hopefully.
no I never found the visor.
saddest day of my zoid life.
until we moved house and i realised i didn't have half my zoids.
THAT was the saddest day of my zoid life.
yeh, originally it was my sister's, but she didn't like zoids so i.. slowly... through playing with it a lot... claimed it as my own.
hahahaha
i kept them in one piece. i was afraid I'd lose the pieces if i disassembled them... seems i lost them anyway.
my advice, if you ever move house, get some bags, dissassemble them and then rebuild them when you unpack.
or keep their original boxes.
hahhhaa ye,

Yes, it would be awesome, but incredibly fragile and hard to pull off.
I hope they do, but who knows.
How did you lose them? were they left behind, or were they just broken?
Aww, how could she not like them? Nice, I had to wait until my sister gave up most of her Zoids. Now she only has her three favorites, Liger Zero, Liger Zero X, and Brad's Command Wolf.
they must have fallen off, though I don't see where they could have gone.
I remember I had to pack up my Zoids, twice to paint my room, though they didn't suffer to much damage. But, I did lose the guns to one of them. I think its name is either Gravity Raynos, or Gravity Pteras. Not sure on which. Then again, its not like they had to go very far.
I actually one time found this little How To on how to move Zoids. I think it said to keep them in one piece, removing easily broken pieces though. They didn't put them in cardboard boxes though, they used nice plastic ones.
Looks can be very deceiving. What looks harmless, may actually be more powerful than three Geno Saurers.

Ah, yea I see. Well, it seems like more of your Christmas present then.
Hopefully they will make a HMM model of it. That would be so awesome.
Is it really that bad? Is it full of Super Girly things, or is it something else?
I think it is too, but it sure looks like more of a Raynos than a Pteras.
Well, perhaps one day you'll find most of the parts you are missing. Including Fury's teeth.
Aww, non-threatening Fury. Yea, he does need his teeth, cause a toothless lavender dragon isn't too intimidating.

makes it very hard to talk to guys though - everyone always thinks you're going out with them if you're seen together.... and I always say "Can't a guy and girl be FRIENDS?"
ohwell that's off topic.... actually we are completely off topic full stop XD
but my sister is into the average girl stuff and animals. horses, slowly a mild taste of fashion, tigers, dolls.. yeh you get the picture.
and I just googled it.
It's Gravity Ptera

like are you gonna start it up again since you did Liger?
i'm working on a new costume as well. don't tell anyone, kinda wanna keep it quiet until later, but I'm cosplaying as Jack of Blades. hopefully for Supanova 2013 (I'll go as Liger again next year, with yr 12 coming up don't have enough time to make the whole suit for jack)

Thats a good way to discourage him. I tell everyone the same thing. Though, my friend broke 2 of them, and I let her get away with it. Though I was so angry, I think it made up for it.
I will admit, I thought you were a guy. But, only because I thought I read it somewhere. Maybe it was just someone else's random comment or something. Sorry about that.
But I should have figured, since most Zoids Cosplayers seem to be girls. For being a "not girly show" (to all of those who think in stereotypes) There sure are quite a few Female fans. Proof that Stereotypes are all in the mind, and that they don't exist.
Our school is a bit wierd. Yes, there are swarms of girls who just love fashion, and who are concerned about thier looks, and who love to talk about guys, but there are equal amounts of those into sports, or into video games and other non-stereotypical stuff. But then again, at our school, Marching Band is considered super cool.
And I know what your talking about. But that isn't such a problem for me at my current school. There are lots of guys and girls hanging out, and yet not considered to be going out. Though, there are some that do, based on the way they act, so yea.
Alright, awesome. Now I know.
Yea, I will finish it some day. Right now, I am working on a lot of things. I still have to repaint some of my Zoids, but before I can do that, for 3 of them I have to take the uneven paint off. Since I would like to paint them all at once, I have to wait.
I really wanted to start on it, but right now I am thinking of a way to give it the look I want, and yet be able to move. Mobility was my biggest issue with Liger, as well as vision. There were a few people who asked me if I could do a 4-legged pose, but I don't know if I could have done that. I wouldn't have done it at the con, because I would have no way to repair the armor if it got damaged.
I'm also thinking that I might switch back to foam, or something a bit more flexible. Perhaps I could do plastic mesh, as I did for the head? We'll just have to see.
It will get done, hopefully before AX next year. (which reminds me, I still have a bunch of pictures that I need to post <-fail)
I'll keep quiet, can't wait to see it done though. When is Supanova?

yeh, i'll probably be like that if he does break one XD.
no reason to be sorry. I deliberatly make people believe i'm male (on internet)... uhh.. long story - but yes I've noticed that as well.
Ninja-hobbit, risky, eternal, lol i cant remember everyone but yeh, seems to be a new craze amoung girls haahahaha
and agreed, stereotypes do not exist.
most of the girls in my school - well, almost 80% of the girls I've met - are the stereotypical fashion lovers that talk about.. well you just said it. but yes there are those that enjoy other things. the far better things.
it's not so much a huge problem (like everyone's getting called it) but it is annoying when you're trying to talk to someone - JUST TALK. and everyone's like OMG YOU'RE GOING OUT LOL.
it's like, 'where's my gun?' XD
yes mobility is an incredible issue in my liger as well.
yet, if it wasn't for the incredibly heavy head that wasn't actually strapped to my head, it just sat there (so it fell forward) and the side stabilizers and knees I would be able to do an all 4 pose. I tried to get on fours at supanova, but half my armour fell off due to it banging into other parts >.< but it didn't damage it. all my parts were velcroed on so super easy to come off (unfortunately too easy)
mine's entirely hard, solid cardboard - no flexibility at all. none. it's all about WHERE you place pieces, HOW you make them and how HEAVY they are.
I just started the gloves today, didn't get much time to do it but got like 2 fingers done.. I'm having to improvise because of the bad graphic model in the game, there's no distinct armour like, spikes and grooves and stuff on the hands, so yeh - but it makes it easier to build because you can customize it and be happy with the results.
Supanova's in June, this year it was 24-26, i don't know when it is next year. but it depends on which state you go to. I mean, there is one in perth (june), sydney (june), two in melbourne (april/november) and brisbane, etc. I go to Perth

interesting. Yea, there are a lot of them, but it is awesome at how many people love Zoids.
Lol, far better things. Yes, I agree, there are far better things than fashion and all of that.
I can imagine that it would get annoying. Where my gun, really? XD
The head is heavy? mine is heavy, but not too heavy. Probably about the weight of a fur head. Yea. My shoulder armor kept getting caught on my lazy attempt for a booster, it was super annoying. Other than that, I think it was just the lazy tail that got in the way.
I used velcro as well, but I used super heavy duty velcro, that I literally wrapped around my arm. It stayed on pretty well, with a few adjustments. Though, I did have to glue small pieces of velcro onto the clothes to hold some pieces in place.
Ah, I used regular cardboard, so it had a bit of flex to it. The armor wasn't heavy at all for me, was yours?
Oh, I think you posted a picture, so I do believe I saw it. It looks good so far, can't wait to see more. And yea, you can have a little freedom with it.
It changes? That sounds a bit annoying if it keeps changing.
but if it is sometime in June, don't you have quite a bit of time to work on your costume? Of course, I have no idea how complicated your costume is/ how complicated your going to make it, or how much time you have free, so yea.
Oh, I posted a picture of Shattered Dream's better paint job, just so you know. Unfortunately, the before and after picture sucks, since I only used one piece of armor to compare how much its changed. Oh well.

it's rather annoying though, when that's what everyone's always talking about and I'm sitting in the sidelines going "wtf are they talking about?" friending those kind of girls is extremely hard. so i pass
Mine was either 1st or 2nd heaviest piece. I don't know if the head or the boosters were heavier... my shoulders did get in the way sometimes, but the way they slightly fell forward they weren't much of a problem. and because of the way my head was made, the fins sit on my shoulders so they don't interfere with anything.
I used standard velcro my mum had in the spare room. when I asked ninja for suggestions, she suggested heavy duty velcro as well, but I didn't have any and the closest shop that will sell them at an affordable price is two hours away. so i stuck with what I had, hotglued it on the pieces and then hotglued the edges of the velcro.... lol, it didn't come off >:3
the other half of the velcro was sewn onto the pants/shirt. It was just little pieces, maybe two or three inches by 1 inch long. The boosters was the only thing not held up by velcro, but a belt which also supported the chest piece.
I used anything and everything I could get my hands on. from cereal boxes to printer boxes, hoses and pipes to zip clips and hot glue. Everything and anything. lol. hey, it worked XD
question, I managed to successfully build a liger costume under $100AU bucks (somewhere less that 60 actually)
how much did you end up spending? I've heard that these sometimes cost like US$200-400.
well it's on the weekend so the date changes because it's not during holidays, but a week before.
And yes, which because Liger was so hard to wear allday this year, I'm starting to think I might go as the new character next year. but nah, I'll prob go as liger again XD
Ye I saw that, it looks awesome! great job on the paint

Yea, I know. But unfortunately I have a lot of friends like that. Its not all they talk about, but it is really annoying.
Wow, that must have hurt your back. I was quite worried about weight, so I tried to avoid heavy things. Heavy duty velcro is always the way to go. But it is understandable why you didn't want to go and get some.
Hot glue is just amazing. there are so many uses. Hmm, let me see, I used Cardboard: $0 Craft Foam: $20 Black shirt: $5 Plastic mesh: $5 fabric $16 paint $ 20
I spent around $66 give or take a few. most of this stuff I already had.
I have heard that Fursuits can cost that much, or costumes like that. It really all depends on what materials you use.
Ah, I see. That makes sense.
I can imagine. Hey, did people recognize you and take your picture a lot? Cause if they did, it would so be worth it. Even if they didn't I think it would be worth it.
Thanks, I worked very, very hard on it.

wow, that is a lot of cardboard. Alright, I'm quite curious to see.
I had someone call me (a) Voltron. Not sure if there is more than one or not. I also had someone call me a Gundam. I got so angry at them. I think being called a Gundam is the worst.
Her costume was really well done. I loved how the mouth on hers moved. Though, I noticed people got us mixed up quite a bit. Our costumes don't even look that similar.
I wanted to. but I didn't. Wow thats very rude as well. That is one thing you never do at a con. I think some people attempted that at AX, but it doesn't always work that way, just because it is so crowded and full of people in costumes who would most likely get angry if you tried.
Though, trying to get throw a crowded area proved an almost disaster for me, and my sister's friend, who was a Deku Shrub (Imagine trying to get through anywhere with that): [link]
In the artist's alley, its crowded, and there isn't much space to move around. I damaged my armor trying to get around there one day. The worst is when people want your picture, so you have to either stop what your doing and move somewhere to get a photo taken, or when you have to pose in the middle of everyone, while people are trying to move. I think they should spread artist's alley out a bit.
But anyways, some people need to learn some manners for conventions. People worked hard on their costumes, most of which are fragile and won't stand up to that much abuse.
You should have yelled that at her. I probably would have,I get angry easily.

the inside isn't really that pretty, but i'll get some shots.
haha, well I think gundam and zoids were made by the same guys but still. completely different. but it's not the worst, I had someone (this was an adult) actually come up to me and ask "Why are you dressed as a Tyrannosaurus Rex?" and I just lost it. "I'm not a fregin Dinosaur, does this look like a T Rex to you?" And just walked off. I had a kid call me a dinosaur as well, but I wasn't concerned - dinosaurs in kids cartoons these days dont even look like dinosaurs....
From the sounds of things AX is pretty massive then? Supanova is too, it's like the only con in australia, but perth isn't that big. so there wasn't AS many people. And the place isn't that big either, like a pavillon and that's it. but it was big enough for me
and ye I saw Deku Shrub, nice costume and I would've thought people were smart enough to move the crap out of the way.
There wasn't an Artist's Alley at Supanova but there was a whole section just for the 'Supaguests' (stars from various tv shows, movies, books, voice actors etc.) and we didn't go up there XD
And yes that happened to me as well, while someone was taking my picture - coz of how crowded it was I had to stand in the middle of a three-way path and someone actually came up to us and told us to move out of the way coz we weren't supposed to be blocking the path. lol, we weren't though, heaps of space behind me.
agreed. and I did turn around, pretty sure I might have said something like 'watch it' or something, but I can't remember.
lol pissed people off everytime I turned though, coz the top fins and like knives on the back of my head, keep hitting people. XD

Really!? But the look nothing a like. How could someone mistake a Zoid for a T-rex? Maybe is someone was a Bio Zoid, but not Liger Zero. Thats just sad.
Yea, I noticed. How sad, when Dinosaurs don't even look like Dinosaurs.
I don't really know if AX is massive or not, but I don't think so. It doesn't sell, out, though it is growing. Its the only con I've been to, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. Though, it is held in a pretty big building. Really, only the artist's alley, which has rather narrow walk ways, is crowded. Though, there are a lot of people in the area right outside of the exhibit hall/ artist's alley. that area looks crowded from above, but it isn't too bad, unless you walk through a cluster of people who are normally all taking pictures of someone.
Sorry, if I'm just confusing you, it is a bit hard to describe.
Lol, I held the head most of the time, so I don't think I hit to many people, except when it was super crowded. But, its a convention, people just have to deal with those who are cool enough to wear the bigger, and harder to move in costumes.

I have noooooo idea. but it wasn't a joke or anything, serious face he came up and asked. when I told him that, he's just like "A what? oh, sorry." and walked back to his mates. jeez.
no I understand.
I didn't take off the head while walking. The only time I did was like every 3 hours when we went to sit outside and eat something.
but when we did go outside I pretty much took the whole costume off minus knees and feet and hips.
yes, people should respect that more.

.... I don't even know what to make of that.
Alright, good. I sometimes just can't explain things.
I took it off, just cause my experiment with vision failed. I could see pretty well when it was slightly darker, but the bright lights made it very hard to see. When I remake the head, I'm definitely going to look from the mouth.
I basically had to take everything off when I wanted to rest as well. It got rather annoying, since I could only leave on the lower leg portion of the armor. So, I basically didn't sit down most of the time, except the one day we headed back to the car for a bit.

lol
yes well, I was going for vision more than anything in my costume's head. If I couldn't see, I'd rearrange and remake bits so I could see.
I've seen many make the vision through the eyes or the nose of liger but I don't see how you could possible get good vision from that so I made it through the mouth. That means you can see my face and the mouth is incredibly wide but whatever.
there were benches outside so I could leave on the backpack (including tail),knees, shoulders and feet. but it was impossible to actually sit on the ground because of the backpack and tail.

Yea, I notice a lot of people do that. I'm most likely going to use plastic mesh painted black to hide my face a bit.
I tried making a patch on the nose to see, but white see through material doesn't do good in bright light.
It was way to hot for me outside. That, and I don't really like being outside in LA. But, I already had to deal with an hour drive there in at least 80 degree weather in all black in a car that had been sitting in the sun, and that had no air conditioning. Might not sound like much, but I am really bad with heat.

well i don't know, because i'd need to convert that to celsius to fully understand how hot that was - and after an extremely cold shower... i really cant be stuffed.

27 degree Celsius I believe. It was just hot, with sun and wearing black and yea. Stupid temperature, not having just one measurement scale whatever.

yea, though I don't like how messy it looks. But, I took the paint off of this model, and started over. The lines look like I painted him in a moving vehicle, and the red is really dark looking. I am still going to do the same paint scheme, just a whole lot neater.
I am definitely going to post a picture of him when I have finished making the paint job better. I should even post a side by side comparison.

I would love to see a side by side comparison.
I speculate he was one of your first custom paint models? If he is, he certainly turned out a hell of a lot better than my first custom paint job.

Yea, one of my first. I think... my 2nd or 3rd.
I believe my first was the Gravity Saix (Blood), where I used spray paint (turned out horrible)
The my second was my Leo blaze.... or was it? I forget these things easily, I am afraid.

I used the model paint my dad had from his car models and it turned out terrible.
I used spray paint on my second one and he turned out way better. I sanded the pieces a bit then sprayed primer then the paint on it.

Really? I used my dad's model paints that were like, maybe 25 years old, and it turned out nicely ( Stripes, the Leo blaze, first repaint, before the second coat of silver, and before I cleaned it off)
the spray painted I used did a very poor job for me. I did not use all that, because I thought it would have been way to thick.

The paints I had weren't designed for the type of plastic that zoids are made out of. [the model paints my dad had]
The spray paint however was specifically made for plastic objects so it turned out better.
