(Disclaimer: I am not trying to push my religion on anyone, I am simply stating what I believe. I apologize if I offend anyone here, I just want to give my piece on such a interesting question)
I am Catholic and in my faith, which falls under christianity, there is something called "Confession". In this ritual of sorts, you go to the priest and confess your sins (There are 2 different kinds of sin, venial and mortal. Knowing the difference for explaining this isn't necessary, but basically venial sin = kinda bad and mortal sin = really bad) Anyways, when you go to confession, admit your sins and ask for forgiveness, your sins are essentially forgiven. Your sin is taken off your record so to speak, therefore allowing you to enter into heaven. So, depending on what a country's religious affiliation is, the sins they committed could be forgiven that way, thus allowing them into heaven?

I really hope Russia will be judged according to Orthodox rules. In this case he will go to heaven.
In our religion even one good deed can outweigh all the sins you`ve ever made.

I feel like they would go through the judgment of history books and then linger until dissolved into nothingness... Either way, it'll be painful.

Actually this is a very good question. Thanks for keeping me up at night, thinking about this.
At least I thnk that they can die, but that it's a whole damn lot harder to kill a nation then a person (as long as their country is strong)
Maybe there is something in between?

The depth placed into this, the symbolism and concept..it's bloody brilliant. Very intriguing, this will probably weigh on my mind for a while. Where do they go? A good question indeed. (Yay for thought provocation and amazing art to go with it!)

Hm...that's a really intriguing question, and not one that's crossed my mind a whole ton. Personally, I imagine the nations to have the same religious beliefs as their people (more multicultural nations like Canada or America might adhere to one in particular due to historical precedence) - and each one's beliefs on what happens after death would be influenced by what that religion has to say on it.
But as for what REALLY happens, that's a hard call. I know what my own religious faith would say on it, but considering that nations are not quite human and that I doubt I'm from the same group as Himaruya-san, it could be interesting to develop a theory outside of my own faith system.

I love how you drew this! its amazing, and the symbols in here are great. I also would like to point out that little guy in the bottom left? yeah, he's really cute....
in my personal opinion, a country cant die like a human can, as in get shot ah oh god dying yeah dead now. they have to be disolved to absolute nothingness and their land given away to other countries, as was the case with Prussia (though I've heard he became East Germany and thus the personification did not die along with his country) If a country can get its land back and its people freed, they come back into existance. As was with Lithuania. Another great examples to look at would be Roman Empire and the Holy Roman Empire. The Roman Empire has been saying "I'm glad God let me come down here for a day" and he seems to know about heaven and hell (refering to his songs). on the other hand, the holy roman empire just disappeared. no grave whatsoever has been mentioned, so in his case I think he just vanished. and what about Germania? That's up in the air.
...I'm really sorry for the long comment......

This is excellent! I love shit like this, I really do. I LOVE playing around with the concept of death and quirky ways of looking at the afterlife and this is just PERFECT X3 I totally love the passive expression on Russia's face all "Yeah sounds about right, point being?" And your reaper/death figure here is all kinds of awesome in a Baron Samedi wickedly cool badass death kinda way <3 Awesome job!

this is very awesome concept! yeah I wondered that I would think a nation would either fade or live on like Prussia. I like to think that nation spirits can come to visit as long as they have influence on the world. That is how my head cannon goes...

Well, I don't think the Devil would let the Roman Empire (for visiting his grandson no less) go, if he went to Hell. Seeing as the Roman Empire was not really free of sins, well...
I think they have kind of their own Heaven maybe ^^

I think that they are normal Children born at the same second as the country is founded, and instantly become countries as they are born. Their life is extended throughout the time of their country;s existence, and picks up again at the time of their country's death; such as Rome was born and fell, when he fell, his life's timer, and the end that awaited him began to tick.

I would think that they just fade away into nothing, considering they're really just projections of the country they represent and they people of that country. Perhaps that's the reason Prussia is still around as well?
