The best sin (nickname) for him would be Arrogance. He wanted to be free to learn and yet he didnβt realise he was always free and over the decades he learned nothing. Ironic. And the truth of his arrogance killed him.

I would say he's quite complex in comparison with villains like him. Instead of simply "I'm sooo evil and want to take over the world" generic bad guy, the series actually gave us an explaination about his obsession. Trust me, I also gave myself several times in obsession for being "perfect". Granted if only they make him more humorous in the present it would be more fun, but I'm satisfied with what we got. Wish he (and Hohenheim) has a longer age as well. 600 years will do.

More like one of the greatest manga villains. The anime reduced some of his scenes, espically the one with Lust and King Bradley prior to encoutering the Elrics.

In terms of personality, he's very simple- seeker of ultimate knowledge no matter what depths he'll sink to. In terms of success rate, he's easily one of the most successful villains of all time.
