Groovy, darling! It's Rarity again, as she appears in the Equestria Girls Rainbow Rock's short music video 'Friendship through the Ages' (www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3ixfT… ) Inspired by the glamorous satin marching band uniforms worn by The Beatles' during their Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band album, this costume called to me the moment I saw it on screen!

I used duchesse satin and bengaline moire, plus shiny gold military braid hand-stitched for all the fleur-de-lis details. There are a little over 1,000 rhinestones encrusting the skirts, jacket, and shoes of this glitzy monstrosity.

One cosplay skill 'first' for me was fabric dying, which I did for all the aqua-colored trims. The color was just so vibrant and perfect, I needed it everywhere!

Another skill-up for me was in the wig-styling department, there is a metal ponytail armature beneath this updo wig (Arda's 'Jeannie' style in my favorite hue: Ultraviolet) to support not one, but TWO ponytail clips worth of hair, done up in bouncy curls! I took a big risk not test-driving it as much as I would have liked, but it was shockingly comfortable!
