Today's a special sort of anniversary.

3 Years ago,
I jumped on a plane.
Wondering if life could compare to a story.
A story years old.
An RP that had landed in two unlikely allies becoming friends.
A friendship that became love.
Love that leaked into reality.
Then the real world with its real desires and lost time turned backs on a storybook.
The rest dribbled into old history.
All that was left was a very fond memory.

Many runs around a desolate block landed the both of us, the writers, at the threshold where we could see if a story could become true.
Maybe find out if there is such a thing as a happy ending.
Turns out real life has a lot more to learn.
You don't show up five, six times a day to see if they are there.
See if he's around and can post for you for a day or two, because you know he can write your character spot on.
See if she's popped on for maybe five minutes to chat and catch up, maybe get the lucky chance to talk on the phone.

There's pauses and glances that say words when the mouth doesn't.
Gestures that mean the world that would seem ordinary most the time.
A special sort of magic to sharing actual life.
It's more than a story.
Much, much Richer.

I missed you so much in the time apart, and happy is a lackluster word for the fullness that comes from sharing life together.
