He's not particularly bothered by his loss of vision, but he does reminisce when he could see, particularly holding onto the concept of color in his mind's eye. Because of his lack of sight, he has a sharper sense of hearing and touch than most people. His ears are so well tuned he's almost pitch perfect. He's also extremely passionate about music and dancing, with a preference towards hiphop.

He may initially come off as cold, as of course, he's blind and cannot mentally project or read people's mood solely off of their voices (if they're unacquainted). He has a tendency to speak with a quiet, neutral tone, as to not crowd out the sounds and voices surrounding him. Despite the way he may initially treat you, he actually warms up to people fairly quickly.
Once he becomes more comfortable, you may find him more boisterous and a bit clingy or feelsy, as he spends a lot of time learning people's appearances through touch. Usually with a familiarity with your voice, he can read your mood.

Despite his elegance while dancing, he actually can be quite clutzy and may be seen blundering about and tripping over things. Especially the immobile, smaller things, for example desks, chairs, bags, shrubbery, poles and the like. You may find him cussing after having ran into the corner of a table for the umpteenth time.
A most distressing prank his friends have pulled in the past involved shifting every desk marginally over.

Often times you may find him nervously standing in front of either a closed or open door, as he's uncertain if he should attempt to "open" the door or walk in (in times like these he often feels quite foolish, and thus has developed a strong distaste for doors.)
He also often finds difficulty finding the handles on doors, the variety of types give him a headache.

+ He can be a bit on the snarky side, making lowkey innuendos. Usually takes his blindness in good humor, as long as it's not offensive.

+ He's been found to have a bit of a sadistic streak, and can be quite shameless.

+ He does have bouts of depression in regards to his blindness, despite how he usually takes it, but catching him in such a mood is rather rare.

Family:
  Father and Mother in a strained marriage: +Mother is Chinese, Father is from England. [Locked]
  Older Brother: + Attends college. Lives away from home on his own. Looks rebellious but is actually a cinnamon roll. [Locked]
  Younger Brother: + Attends a different school. Tends to help out Aster quite a lot, usually involving public spaces like train stations or heading into an unfamiliar city. Has a rebellious attitude. Appearance is quite close to Aster's. [Locked]

He wasn't always blind, but he did develop it at a very early age, due to angle closure glaucoma which lead to nerve damage and cataracts. His parents were unaware of his condition until the late stages and most of his vision was already lost.

Following his diagnosis and "treatment", his parents doted on him, as if he was a lost lamb. But he was more than well aware of what kinds of things they'd say when they believed he was out of earshot.

A burden. Disabled. Disappointing.

He closed himself off from his parents, finding solace in the presence of his older brother. He encouraged him to take up music and taught him some basics to dance. He picked up more types of street dances in middle school, where he often practiced with his friends.

Rio (Sou) - Danced with her once and hit it off right away. Treats her very much like a little sister. Is quite playful around her.

Satsuki (Yoon) - loves the hell out of this man for jumping in and providing vocals during his and Ringo's recorder session. Hasn't really seen him around since though.

Manae (Kyan) - Manae best girl. He's super comfortable being around her, as she's one of the only others that really understands him. Sometimes spends afterschool with her in the library, listening to her read books out loud. Finds her sass top notch. Has great respect for her.

Shiki (Rina) - Finds him amusing, even if he doesn't speak. He finds it extremely entertaining when he writes on his arms to communicate. Enjoys his presence!

Ana (Mimi) - Thinks she's a rather sweet girl with a slight overobsession with her older brother. Finds her polite, but self-contained. Ana should dance plis

Nia (Sou) - didn't get much interaction, but was quite put off by her stiff, rather hostile attitude.

Yuma (Ness) - Didn't directly interact. Can recognize him merely by his yelling voice though.
