Didn't feel like drawing, but felt like using the burn/dodge tool to do some shading in PS. Soooo, I just doodled some derpy chibis really fast so I could do my shading. X3Related content

I don't want to be mean or anything, but why is this on the front page? It's good for beginner/intermediate level, but no way should this be so popular :/ I should have listen when people said deviantART's standards aren't so high.
Ah well, I've seen worse. Tis alright, you might want to work on a bigger canvas to get smoother lineart though.

I'm not blaming you, in fact congrats on getting there lol. I just think it's crazy, and slightly unfair to other artist's who perhaps never get the chance to get on the front page. But yeah, it is the people who fave it... I just can't understand why so many people do. I mean, I even saw that lots of people steal your art, which was strange (and downright rude you you, the artist).
It just seems like deviantART's standards aren't as high as they could be.

I'm not a hater, I just find it ridiculous how much people idolise her art when it is... not exactly the best wolf art out there. Yeah, it's good, but they look like she hasn't ever studied anatomy properly, and some look like MS Paint scribbles.
I have a feeling most of her fans are kids however.

There are people out there who can actually DRAW to a better standard who struggle to get 40 views. It's really screwed up.

Seriously, I'm not blaming her at ALL for it being on the front page. It's the fault of the people who idolise her and lick her ass so much. She's not amazing. Yes, she's good for an intermediate artist, but all this ass kissing is making me sick. Not one constructive comment at all, and all these comments saying: "Oooh, your anatomy is PERFECT" and: "OMFG YOU'RE AN AMAZING ARTIST" is just... wow.
And do you know why?
Because all of her fans are 13 year old kids (or around about) who, if they were pushed enough and looked up to better artists, could do just as good, if not better than this.

I'm complaining here because this is where all of her fans will see these comments. And hopefully realise that they can do just as good as this. Her art is good, yes, but it almost seems like people can't see the incredible amount of flaws, and they fawn all over her art and then she has no advice to improve with.

You don't need to study anatomy to be a good artist. Have you seen cartoons like The Flinstones, The Peanuts, Power Puff Girls, etc? They're all famous and there's better art and shows out there, too.

Yes, but the people who draw the Flintstones, etc, all know what real anatomy looks like. Before you stylise something, you need to know what it looks like in real life.
Animators need to have a portfolio of a buttload of good lifedrawings to be even considered for an aniamtion job. When I applied for an animation course at University, one of the portfolio requirements was alot of good lifedrawings, and examples of a good understanding of anatomy.
